I was bored and decided to write this. Don't worry, My other story 'the past shall come back' is being worked on. I'm just taking a small brake from it. This story is Red Arrow's point of view. I'm not really sure if it's good or not, but I tried my best on it.

ENJOY AND REVIEW!

He knew couldn't be a sidekick forever. He knew one day he wouldn't be Speedy. He knew one day he wouldn't be in Green Arrows shadow, he just wasn't sure when though.

He tried telling people he was a partner, not a sidekick. No one listened. They never did. That just made his desire grow stronger.

That day he threw down his hat in the hall of justice and walked out on the league, his mentor and his friends was the day he knew his days as a sidekick were over.

That day when he was offered a chance on the team was the day he stopped being Speedy. He couldn't use that name anymore, it held to many memories of what he left behind.

He changed it Red Arrow, it suited him better. While Speedy was a boy, Red Arrow was adult capable of being a hero himself.

He wondered if doing this was the right choice. He left everything behind him. He'd done it when he left the reservation to become Speedy, was doing it again the right thing?

The day he found out about Artemis was the day he stuck with his decision. No turning back, Speedy had died, Red Arrow was born. The line between the two stayed a line. Another chapter had began in is life.

For a while the team seemed like a clubhouse, nothing more. But now it seemed like a real team to him. He respected them after Kaldur helped him with Cheshire. He still wasn't going to join though.

He wondered if people saw him a hero instead of a sidekick now.
People still called him Speedy. Actually everyone did. Was he a joke to the league? Or a real hero? He had no clue.

When plants started attacking the whole world from the injustice league, Green Arrow and Black Canary asked for his help in Star city.

It seemed like he was treated like another hero fighting instead of a sidekick or partner. He finally felt like his own man. They creamed the plants in the end.

When Batman called the meeting to discuss if there was a mole in the team, he knew he had to say is thoughts on it. He told them of how Miss Martian had snuck onto earth and that Artemis wasn't Green Arrows niece. Both had secrets he'd get to no matter what.

He wasn't that scared little boy who lost everyone he loved, or the stubborn sidekick of Green Arrow in Star city. He definitely wasn't Oliver Queens adopted son either. He was Roy Harper, the vigilante, Red Arrow and protector of Steal city.

It was just the beginning of his life, more was to come. He was ready.

I hope everyone enjoyed it, Be ready for more!
