Derek has them. Mark has them too. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. The McEyes. The wounded puppy look when they don't get what they want. I think Karev might have picked them up too. No straight woman can resist the McEyes.

I remember the first time I saw the McEyes. It was around Christmas time and Derek and I were walking around New York. Suddenly we came across a frozen pond that some teenagers were skating on. Derek gave me the McEyes. That night we came back to my place and soaked our sore feet. I vowed right then never to fall for the McEyes again.

Three months later I saw them again. We were at the most expensive Italian resturaunt in New York City. Derek had been awfully fidgety all night. I was about to find out why. As he got down on one knee and asked that fateful question, he shot me the McEyes. I couldn't say no. The only words that would form in my mouth were "Of Course."

I didn't see the eyes for awhile after that. Not until I was leaving for Seattle. This time they came from Mark. I was actually surprised that he had mastered them. I shouldn't have been surprised. After all, Derek and Mark were best friends. And there he was, begging me to stay in New York. Divorce Derek and be with him. This was the only time in the history of the eyes that I said no to them. Because I had a similar set of eyes waiting for me in Seattle. Or, so I thought.

When Mark showed up at Seattle Grace with those eyes, I tried to be annoyed. I really did. But you can't reject the McEyes twice. It just, doesn't happen. So Mark and I peacefully co-exsisted. Just like Derek and I grew to peacefully co-exsist when he when back to Grey.

Most recently though, I thought Karev might have mastered the McEyes. But that would mean we needed to give him a nickname. You know like McSexy or McGorgeous or...not the point. He had been spending too much time with Mark. I needed to fix that. That was when he gave me the McEyes. I was trying to get him to be my intern again. He didn't want that. Hence, the McEyes. But I had grown immune. Mostly out of necessity. I needed to be strong against them, so that Mark couldn't break me. But Karev's were so fresh and new that I couldn't look away. Enter, the now infamous "eye-sex" we had when I called him a good guy.

God, I really gotta stop looking into guy's eyes. At least the ones that have mastered the McEyes.
