Smiling, she reaches over and tucks a blonde strand behind Lauren's ear. Muttering, the woman rolls over and breathes out a sigh. She should return to her files but...Lauren suddenly rolls onto her. An arm slips around her and she feels Lauren breath out again on her stomach.
They had been sitting on the couch, innocently, but Lauren was exhausted with everything that was happening, and quickly she'd fallen asleep, originally, curled up on one side with Bo on the other, but now she'd slide between Bo and the couch with her head on Bo's stomach and a loose arm around legs.
Smiling she picked up the paperwork and read it, placing a hand on Lauren's back, just so she could feel her take in a breath.
"Hydrogen bond."
Bo blinked and looked back down. "What?"
Lauren clutched her shirt, tight in grip. Her face pinched and a mumble of words spilt out. Bo watched as Lauren took in a sharp breath and clutched her shirt tighter in her grip. "No..." She tensed her shoulders and curled up against the succubus.
"Lauren?" Bo asked. Lauren gave a small whimper. Worried, Bo stared and ran her hand down her back, hoping to soothe her. Instead, Lauren tensed. Having enough, Bo dropped the paperwork, sat up and wrapped Lauren in her arms. Lauren's eyes flew open, terrified as she sucked in a breath. Bo quickly cupped her face and turned her head to face her. "Lauren, it's me." Lauren's eyes darted between Bo's dark eyes. Searching before she remembered as reality hit her.
"Bo?" She whispered, still not quite sure.
"Yeah, it's me, just me." Lauren's face relaxed as she dropped her head onto Bo's shoulder.
"I'm sorry..." she breathed out. Bo shook her head and pulled her in tighter. "I shouldn't have dropped off like that, I should be working. I should be-"
"Hey, it's fine. Relax Lauren." She kissed her head and ran her hands up her back. "Whatever's happening, you know I'm here right?"
Lauren pulled her head up and flicked her eyes to see the concern flashing through the dark chocolate eyes. "I want to tell you," Lauren sighed, "but I don't want you to get in any more trouble, I don't want you to get hurt for the sake of me."
Bo shook her head defiantly, "I would happily do whatever it took to make you happy Lauren." Words caught in her throat after that. She wanted to say something, anything to make her feel better, but there wasn't much in her head. Instead, she tilted Lauren's head up and kissed her chastely on the lips. "You're my friend, even more then that...and I care for you deeply."
Lauren's breath brushed against her cheek as the doctor searched for her own words. Instead she nodded and pushed her face closer for another kiss. She squeezed her eyes shut and breathed in the succubus, tasting her before she pulled back. "Being around you make me happy," she said.
The smile from Bo was enough, but the words, "Being around you always make me happy," made everything better.
