Author's Notes: This is just something that popped into my head. Sort of the thoughts of any of the characters that saw the wolves at any point in the show.
I saw a wolf once.
But no one will believe me. Why should they? After all, they have been dead for over two hundred years. Wolves are a myth, a fairytale, a legend. These are the truths that I was raised on. "Everyone" knows them, so therefore they must be true. What I saw had to have been a large dog.
I know better. I know what I saw was real.
I saw wolves once.
Here in this city, I saw them. Among the crumbling walls, rusted pipes, and broken glass. They were there, hidden among us. Hidden in plain sight. Somehow fooling us into believing they were just like us. Surviving just as we were in this ruined place.
Those boys - those wolves – were there. Where did they go?
I saw wolves once.
Why won't anyone believe me? Why would I lie about something like this? I know why. I know because I can hear them when they think I'm not listening. "There goes that Crazy," they say. "There goes the nut-job." But I'm not Crazy, I know I saw them.
Not even my parents believe me. Do you?
I saw a wolf once.
AN: I hope you enjoyed it.
