A/N: Just like any other story I write, I don't want to hear about spelling errors or how the characters aren't acting how they usually would. This is an AU crossover. So. Yeah. :P

It came down to this then... He would have never guessed that she had been in one of those big time gangs. She was smarter then that, she always had been. Well, she was when they were younger, at least. He wouldn't have ever guessed it was her.. Which was probably why it was so brilliant. He watched her as she sat down in front of him, she didn't do her usual greeting; leaning over the table to kiss him nor did she even try to hug him at least.

She probably knew why she was here.

"How are you?" He asked coolly, leaning back in his chair a bit. She smiled, but it had an aloofness to it. "I'm fine, and yourself?" He sat back up straight, looking deep into her eyes. How could she, someone so seemingly perfect, be a heartless woman of the mafia? "I'm confused.. And a bit troubled and.. Damn, I don't know what else to say, Erza" He reached over and roughly grabbed her hand, pulling it back toward himself and wiping away the make-up that covered the black and navy blue tattoo that symbolized the Fairy Tail gang. He stared into her eyes and she looked ashamed for a moment.

Just a moment.

Then she looked like she was hurt and a bit insulted. "Don't judge me, Dave.. Don't look down on me like you're some kind of saint" She snatched her arm away, staring$ him straight in the eyes as she shook her head a bit. "You wouldn't even understand..." She glanced away with tears in her eyes. "If you're going to arrest me, then do it... I'd rather be locked up then have you sitting here looking at me like that" he stared at her. "Why are you wasting your time there, Erz..? You're better than that" She looked down at the table, then back at him with tears in her eyes, genuine. Not the ones she used when she wanted someone else to do something; he could always tell the difference. "You really don't know do you?" She glanced down at her feet then back up at him, putting her hands over her face and crying. "... They got him back for me..." She murmured through her tears. "... I was blinded with betrayal and rage... They got him back for me..."

Dave blinked at that... He knew all about "Him". He sighed a bit and moved from his chair. He draped his arms around her shoulders, like he had done many times before to comfort his scarlet haired fiancée. He kissed her cheek gently, letting her cry and murmur "It felt so good at the time" over and over again. He hated her crying in public.

He hated her crying in general.

He looked at her, just staring at the wall... "Promise me you won't be involved with them anymore.."

"You know I cant do that"

"... We'll leave then"

"I won't do that. You finally got the position you want, you shouldn't give that up because of me"

"Protecting you is more important"

"I'm not going to let you do that"

He sighed. He didn't know what else to do then.. Well, nothing he liked. "Help me then.."

"You're really going to let me this time?"

"If it means that you'll be safe... I suppose so..."
