Just Another Sunday

John finally convinced Elizabeth and Sam to let him go to Earth for one Sunday. He asked them weeks ago, and he was planning to bring Teyla with him. There was a carnival that was reported to be not far from SGC. They meet in the gate room and Teyla looks excited, but also nervous.

"Are you ready to go to Earth…. for real this time?" John says jokingly.

"Yes, yes, I am," replies Teyla. "And do I finally get to see this… um, the Ferris wheel you mentioned when we first met?"

A questionable look came over his face. "I said I liked Ferris wheels the first day we met?"

"Yes, that and football if I remember correctly. Do you not remember?" asks Teyla.

"All I remember about that day was how much I wanted to impress you," he says with a smirk on his face.

On Earth

The SGC lets John use a car to drive to the carnival. It's been so long since he drove one that it was almost foreign. As they arrive Teyla's eyes widen. All the lights and people amaze her. She is overwhelmed by the smells of different variety of foods. John smiles as he watches Teyla trying to engulf all she is seeing.

"Come on let's go." John says as he holds her hand. "I'd like to show you something."

Teyla looks at him with a great smile, "The Ferris wheel?"

"Nope," John says with a slight tilt of his head. He then leads her through all the different food vendors. She wasn't too sure if she liked the cotton candy, but she did enjoy the candied apple and a few other things. He leads her through the midway and her wins her a little stuffed animal. She wins him a bigger one. Every once in awhile she would ask about the Ferris wheel.

"Are you going to show me the Ferris wheel?" Teyla asks eagerly.

" Nope, not yet," he replies with a cocky little smile. Teyla gives him a slightly agitated look. " Don't worry. We'll get there…. eventually."

He then takes her on the different rides and snickers under his breathe every time they walk by the Ferris wheel. She laughs on some of the rides and screams on the others, but she tells him that she is glad that he brought her to experience it. He stops for a moment and checks his watch.

"Oh man, it's late! We need to get back!" John expresses with a frown on his face.

Teyla stops to look around to capture the beautiful sights and lights of the whole day. She turns to John and asks, "But what about…."

"The Ferris wheel?" John smiles and looks up, Teyla joins him. Her mouth opens wide with aw. John turns to her and takes her hand. "Are you ready?" he asks with a grin. Teyla just smiles and bows her head slightly to say yes.

Teyla sees John give money to the man next to the controls, but doesn't understand why. He turns and gives her a mischievous look. She raises her eyebrow and gives him a crooked grin as they both get on the ride. At first she was slightly afraid as the bench of the Ferris wheel went up and begins to sway, but as she notices John's arms around her she begins to feel better. Each time they where up high he would point out different sights beyond the carnival. It was so amazing to her.

The ride stops and it alarms her at first, but once he shows her the view they have she stops being afraid. They finally look into each other eyes, get closer and kiss.

When they get off the Ferris wheel. John asks Teyla, "Are you ready to go home?"

She smiles at him and give him another kiss, "Yes, let us go home."

The end
