I got inspired by watching an episode of Inuyasha tonight called I think Sango's heart and Kohaku's life or something like that.
Lullaby
"No" was whispered from Kohaku's lips. He was having yet another nightmare about his past. He tossed and turned on the futon. Now Naraku was gone and as long as the shard stayed in his back he remained alive. He seemed to be about 14 now and lived in the village with a married Sango and Miroku. He remained distant from everyone, sulking and mourning when he was alone. He still fought, but only when needed to. Whenever he heard the rattling of chains his eyes widened and guilt flooded out of them. Most of the time Sango worried about him. She would always peek on him when he slept sometimes he would sleep peacfully letting calmness cover his features.
"No...please...I didn't do it." he tossed and turned in is futon. It was late at night and Sango looked at her brother who had tear streaked eyes. Miroku was out at some nearby village helping with a small demon problem. So tonight it was just Sango and Kohaku. Sango crept into the room and sat on the futon, and began to wipe the tears from his eyes.
"Shh Kohaku" she soothed as she rubbed the bangs from his face. His face calmed as she touched his cheek. He awoke with a shudder.
"Sango... I-I don't know what happened" he half sobbed as he sat up digging his hands into his face and crying. She wrapped comforting arms around her brother and rocked him back and forth until he was breathing heavily.
"Relax Kohaku, I was just a nightmare."
"But I hurt you and killed so many others!" he yelled breaking her grasp on him. Once again she put herh arms around him and began to sing quietly.
"Hush young one.
Don't cry.
Let go of your troubles.
And say goodbye.
Please dry your tears.
I'll fight what comes near.
Little brother I won't let you go."
Because we are together..at home." She repeated it over 3 more times until he was dosing. Sango gently set him down back on the bed and snuggled close to him.
"Remember Kohaku I will always love you" she whispered. He heard a satisfied 'mmmm' from her younger brother. She stayed close to him for the night and humming the melody of her lullaby.
In his dreams whenever Naraku showed up, Sango would show up and fight him away as the song played over and over in his mind.
"Hush young one.
Don't cry.
Let go of your troubles.
And say goodbye.
Please dry your tears.
I'll fight what comes near.
Little brother I won't let you go.
Because we are together..at home.
Sango will always love you.
More than you know." She added the last time before she fell asleep.
Awwwww...I love Kohaku I just wanna hug him and be like...it's okay. It was really short, and I like it. It's the second story I've posted tonight. If any of you readers out there are Kohaku/Rin fans I have a story called Changes, its pretty cool if you wanna check it out. Oh and Bleach fans who is so psycked that the show is on weekdays now. And for those of you who do not watch Bleach I recommend you do it is very good. Review it up!!
