There was no lie in the way I felt
I really did like her
That cute smile, that raven hair,
Her confidence and boldness,
What was not attractive about that?
Maybe I went wrong in the planning
Maybe I shouldn't have used her friends
Maybe I let a… different part of me talk
(rather than my brain or heart)
I am a guy, after all
We have hormones
I was so meticulous
Got it all down
The "ultra-recyclo vegetarian" bit
The "Goth" style
The flirting
The accent (come on, what girl do you know
wouldn't go for an accent?)
I think I swayed her heart in my direction
Once she saw that her friend wouldn't act
(And at this rate,
he'll never get a girl if he never asks)
Well, I guess it wasn't meant to happen
Hey, at least I got a kiss
I tried cheerleaders next
(I don't need any preparation for them,
just a jock's jacket and attitude)
But the town was weird with ghosts
There was no point in staying
So, I'm going back to Michigan
