Lady love

Gin has nothing to do today. When Aizen sama was gone, leaving him and Tousen to finish their morning cuppa tea, he decided to strike up a little chat with his ever-so-glum comrade.

"Any plans for today, Tousen?"

Tousen replied with his monotonous tone, "not really. Why do you ask?"

With his careless voice and a hint of amusement, Gin continued, "well, I thought you'd be chasing some wild goose for Aizen sama. I guess, these days his very useful arrancars are leaving us with nothing to do but to drink tea and gossip."

Tousen sipped his cup of tea,"Aizen sama is wise and if it's his wish that we sit here and enjoy our tea, that this is what we must do".

Gin frowned, "you're a bit of a bore aren't ya?"

Tousen mechanically sipped his cuppa earl grey.

Gin smile came back, "We don't really talked that much, do we?"

Tousen looked at him questioningly. "Any required communications are always done efficiently according to the task determined by Aizen sama."

Gin's smile widened to cover his annoyance "Don't you sometimes get tired of following Aizen samas rules, Tousen?"

Tousen's never changing robotic voice replied, "No. And where is this coming from? Are you planning to stop following Aizen sama, Gin?"

Gin defended himself with yet another grin on his face, "Now now, what gave you that kind of absurd idea? You know I can never do that. I am his most loyal servant"

"Then why are you asking such questions?" Tousen shifted on his chair.

"Oh, don't you ever wonder about things like that? It's only normal." Gin said with an air of aloofness.

"I don't wonder about things. I only follow Aizen sama's command".

"Sheesh! You have a huge stick up your ass don't ya. I wonder who put it there. Come to think of it...", Gin suddenly remembered something, "hey, Tousen, I heard you had a girlfriend once?" Gin spread his beam.

Tousen cocked his head towards him, if Gin didn't know better, he would have thought Tousen was giving him a death glare.

"Now, now, it's nothing to be ashamed of", Gin again continued his infuriating smiles and defended himself. "I myself had a love interest in the past… but, It didn't work out" he frowned.

"I didn't not have a girlfriend", Tousen boomed and continued sipping his tea.

"Well, let's call her your lady love than, shall we?" Continuous grin illuminated his face. "Care to tell me what happened to her?"

"Gin, could you please explain, what is the point of this conversation?", Tousen's monotonous voice showed no annoyance.

"Well, since I have nothing to do today, I thought to myself, why not get to know my oldest comrade a little better. After all, we are family."

"You know enough. There is nothing more to know about me."

"Sheesh, some family you are. Try to at least act like you are part of this." A fake frown covered his face.

After few minutes of pause, Gin started again, "so, this lady love, she married another shinigami aye?"

Tousen again looked at him, and gave him a piercing gaze with his blind eyes.

"I understand, it would be harsh. I feel for you bro. The love of your life, marrying another… I never had to experience that with my girl. Although she does have a very unhealthy obsession with her captain. "

"Are you talking about Matsumoto Rangiku?" Tousen said with unusual amount of curiosity in his voice.

"I will tell you mine, if you tell me yours"

"My what?"

"Lady Love"

"I haven't got one"

"I know you don't now. But you did before"

"Before what?"

"Everything happened? Are you talking about any particular event?"

"Arghh… Tousen! Just tell me already".

"Tell you what?"

"About your girlfriend."

"I haven't got one"

Gin loudly pushed the chair, stood up and walked away.

Tousen continued sipping his earl grey tea with a joyous feeling in his chest resembling strangely of the sensation of winning a battle.
