The bell on the door jingled loudly as a man signaled for Creel to bring him more coffee.

"I'll be with you in a second." she called to the customer whose face she could not see.

The steaming brown liquid fell into the cup as she filled the man's cup to the brim.

She set the coffee pot back on the counter and grabbed her notebook and pencil from her apron.

"What can I get you?" she asked with the friendliest smile she could manage, as she reached the man's table. God she couldn't wait till lunch break.

The customer looked up, she now realised was a boy about 19 years old he had dark brown hair that fell into his eyes and warm chocolate eyes that made her want to melt into a puddle. In a word he was gorgeous.

"Umm...yes I would like 3 strips of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and a side of hashbrowns." Creel jotted the order down.

"Okay, coming right up." she said turning around and walking back to the kitchen. She called out the order out to Johnny their chef. He gave a mock salute and set to work.

Creel leaned against the counter, hopefully not obviously staring at the mysterious customer.

She watched as he pulled a laptop out of a bag by his side.

His fingers immediately tapping on the keys as soon as the lid opened.

"Order up!" Johnny called out to her, she jolted out of her trance and went to pick the tray off from the counter.

Balancing the tray of food on one hand and a cup of Mocha coffee on the other Creel made her way toward him.

"Here you go." Creel said sliding the food to the side of him and putting the coffee right next it.

"Thank you, it looks delicious." he told her warmly accepting the platter.

Creel couldn't help herself. "What are you writing?" She asked curiously.

He looked up, a little embarrassment in his eyes. "Ummm... I'm trying-very unsuccessfully I might add- to write a novel."

"Wow," Creel said taken aback.

"I know a waste of time right." He said looking morosely at his computer.

"No, no it's really interesting actually. I admire people like that, people who are able to see the world in a different enough way to write about it."

"I actually hadn't thought about it like that. Here." He said moving the food and his computer back. "Sit down."

"Oh no, I'm sorry I'm still on shift, I can't talk until break."

He smiled. "Then when is your break?"

"Oh you don't have to wait, it's not for another hour."

"I'll eat slow." he told her good naturedly.

She smiled a rosy blush creeping across her cheeks.

"Alright, can't wait. I'll… I'll see you in an hour." she stuttered a nervous laugh breaking through her mouth.

He smiled and waved her off.

Creel set back to work, trying to not watch as the clock ticked slowly by.
