Chapter 1 – Promises to Keep
Raffaele turned around as Enzo walked by, and faced him. "Enzo. If you are ever in trouble, call the name 'Adelina Amouteru'." He then turned around and continued out into the courtyard. "Wait!", Enzo called after him. Raffaele continued walking away. Enzo stared in confusion, at Raffaele retreating back. Enzo turned and walked toward his chambers. When he arrived, he saw Lucent sitting on his bed. "Reaper.", she stated as she stood and bowed. "A message has arrived from Beldain.". "From who?", Enzo asked. "Maeve.", Lucent said, with a sad little sigh.
Lucent handed Enzo a letter. He opened it and started to read:
Dear Enzo,
It is with my deepest regret that I must inform you that I must with draw my patronship. In the following months when you shall advance to the throne, I shall have to care for my dear brother Tristan. Please know that if I could, I would.

Enzo nodded and handed the letter back to Lucent. "Please excuse me.", Lucent said as she bowed again and retreated from his chambers.
