Last time I checked, I don't own BBC Sherlock.
"Mycroft?"
He stared down at his younger brother disdainfully. The walk from the school cut through the park, and six year old Sherlock was usually silent during that time.
The fact that he was talking meant one of two things: he wanted something, or he was just being annoying.
Mycroft guessed it was the first option.
"That thing you were doing to that older boy..." Sherlock spoke slowly, choosing words carefully. He wanted to ask something, Mycroft confirmed his guess mentaly.
"Mark?"
"Yeah, Mark. When he was being mean to you, you made him cry. What do you call it again? Ded-"
"Deducting," Mycroft interrupted.
"Can you show me how?"
"Why?"
Sherlock shrugged.
"I want to know."
"One good reason Sherlock. Give me one good reason."
Sherlock smirked.
"My deserts for a week. And quality time with your favorite brother."
The elder brother chuckled a bit, before sitting down on a nearby bench.
"In that case... let's play deductions."
He pointed to a man sitting on a bench next to them, reading a thick novel.
"Alright. From here, I can tell that man is a retired fisherman, is married, served time in the navy quite recently, and has two small dogs. Tell me how I know all that. Show me how I figured it out."
"He has a ring..."
"Yes, that's the easiest. What else?"
Sherlock squinted at the man.
"He has little hairs on his jeans. Some are at his ankle and white, others are at his knee and brown. So two dogs, neither very big."
"What else?"
Sherlock looked at the man for a few moments.
"His hands have little scars all over them, like from fishing line."
"But..."
"They've healed. So he hasn't been fishing recently!"
"And..."
"He has a cane and a slight limp and, and his hair is cut military style, and he has a little tattoo of a anchor on his forearm."
"He's walking and sitting up very straight, out of habit as well," Mycroft said. "Took you much too long though. Nearly five minutes. It took me a few moments."
Sherlock looked a bit put out by his statement.
"Of course, I have been doing it longer than you've been alive. But those are actually all the obvious ones. I skipped the fact that he has a young daughter ill in the hospital, and that he now works at a grocery store. And that his son is failing school."
Sherlock stared at Mycroft in awe.
"How did you..."
"You tell me."
Sherlock beamed.
Sorry if this is a bit OOC. And a bit short...
Oh well.
Thanks for reading!
