Inner World Dreams
a Spider Riders fic
"Hunter?"
He could hear someone calling out to him. A female voice, but it sounded far away.
"Come on, wake up."
Wake up? Why should he when he was having such a nice dream?
"Hunter, please. We'll be late."
Late for what? He didn't remember.
"Hunter, don't make me get a bucket of water."
He was instantly awake, not wanting to get splashed on with water. He knew she was serious; she'd done it before. A few times when he never woke up after a few of her calls. But could she really blame him when he was having such a wicked dream?
"Corona, why'd you wake me? I was having a nice dream."
The girl called Corona blinked. "Why'd I wake you? We'd be late for school if I didn't. That's why."
"School? We don't go to school in Arachna, Corona," Hunter laughed, and she looked at him, confused.
"What's Arachna?"
"Huh?"
It was a dream, but it had felt so real.
She giggled. "You must have been really asleep. Tell me what you're dream was about?"
"Well, we were in this place called the Inner World," Hunter told her, sitting up in his bed. "It was really nice and had a huge sun called the Oracle's Sun! In that world, we were there, along with a few others, but they're not from here. Their names were Igneous, Lumen, Magma, Aqune, and Sparkle. They all, along with us, fought epic battles with large, robotic Spiders as their partners!" he exclaimed, waving his hands. "We were a team with our spiders, and we helped defend the Arachna Kingdom against the evil Invectids."
Corona blinked a few times, then giggled softly once more. "That was some dream."
"Yeah," Hunter grinned up at her, rubbing at his tired eyes.
So why'd she wake me up?
