AN: This idea just sorta popped into my head one day. Not sure why but I thought I'd write it. It's in an AU obviously. Doctor Who is owned by BBC and the song "Love, Me" i which this fic was inspired by is by Collin Raye. I own nothing you lot recognise.

Love, Me

I once read a note that my dad wrote back, well, not sure when. He traveled you see, so it could have been written in any time, or in any place. But my mother kept it with her, right along with handcuffs for some reason, and she showed it once to me.

She said, "Well, you might not understand, but after all you should know...You father and I live in separate times. It's hard, but I do love him so..."

I listened, fascinated by the story. I knew what dad was and how his faces changed. I had only seen my dad a few times, but I always knew it was him. I suppose when he'syour father you always know. He came around in a big blue box with all kinds of presents and trinkets and a big night planned for mom and I. The last time he visited he took me ice skating on the rings of Saturn, just us two and mom to Derillium to see the Singing Towers. Mom's stories were one of my favorite parts about my dad. There were so many. Some happy or tragic, but always exciting.

"We had this plan to meet, and run away together. He did so love running. We were to have a proper wedding the first place that blue box took us to and live, running forever." She paused, "But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead, I found this letter," She said unfolding it and handing it to me.

The letter was written in circles, a language Mom called Old High Gallifreyan that I had learned since I was a child. I read the circular writing, always loving the way it looked.

If you get there before I do, don't give up on me. I'll meet you when

my running is through. I don't know how long I'll be. Well,

I do but you know how the TARDIS is...But I'm not gonna let you

down, darling. Wait and see. And between now and then, until I see

you again I'll be loving you.

Love, me

I read the note just hours before my mother told me of an expedition she was going to go on to a Library. The biggest Library in the world. The Library that WAS a world. She was an archeologist, and sometimes went on expeditions but very rarely took me on them. How dangerous could archeology be? The next morning, she was gone off on another adventure...

I was awoken that morning to the whirring sound of the blue box, and ran out to it's spot in the garden. My father raced out, in some sort of hurry and paid no mind to me only went into the house.

"She left already, for an expedition. She went to the Library." I explained

Dad seemed distraught "I'm too late then..." He said, looking as defeated as I had ever seen him. This man who was the most confident man I had ever seen was like a fallen lion, all life fading from his eyes.

"She left a note." I said, pointing to the table, "She always leaves a note for you before she leaves on expeditions in case you show up." I had never understood why until now. Never even bothered to read the notes. Until now...

If you get there after I leave, don't give up on me. I'll meet you when

this expedition is through. I don't know how long I'll be. We can't all

have a TARDIS after all...But I'm not gonna let you down, sweetie.

Wait and see. And between now and then until I see you again I'll be

loving you.

Love, me

You know...I've never seen my dad cry in all my sixteen years, but as he read those words from mom...his eyes filled up with tears.
