Victim Sanctuary
A/N: This little plunnie bit me when I was watching Yuusei and Aki's first Duel for the millionth time (what? It's a good Duel) and I realized exactly how much Stardust Dragon reflected Yuusei. Particularly his monster effect (when an effect that destroys cards is activated (Monster, Trap, or Magic) by releasing Stardust you can negate the activation of the effect. In the End Phase of the turn in which Stardust uses it's effect, it returns to the field).
And well, it got me thinking on Yuusei's personality, and how he seems to care less about himself. We all know Yuusei is a work-a-holic that probably has to be dragged to bed by Crow and Jack. Wouldn't surprise me if they had to force feed him too. However, screw with his friends and you better run. Fast. I don't know who scares me more when they're mad: Atemu (Yami Yuugi) or Fudou Yuusei.
That's enough of my rambling. Enjoy the story!
All of his friends could agree without a shadow of doubt, that if Red Daemon's Dragon is Jack's soul, then Stardust Dragon was Yuusei's. Stardust's effect was cincher for the comparison. Stardust is a monster that will sacrifice itself again and again.
And so would Yuusei.
If you gave him the choice of his life or a friend's, without a moment of hesitation, Yuusei would sacrifice himself to save his friend.
Of course, he seemed to keep coming back no matter who tried to get rid of him.
Just like Stardust.
And, you know, while the guy seemed pretty confident, they could tell he really had some issues. Jack and Crow knew this better than the rest. Yuusei could find a way to blame the smallest of things on himself. And some not so small things.
Like Zero Reverse. When Crow found out that Yuusei blamed himself for the deaths caused by his father's experiment he felt smacking the idiot upside the head…or dragging him to Martha. Definitely Martha.
So, he wasn't exactly the most confident guy, but when you get down to it, he knows what he can and can't do (Usually. Yuusei tended to underestimate himself at times, going back to the aforementioned confidence issues).
Plus he was pretty much Satellites' poster boy for hope. The people at the Fortune Cup weren't wrong in calling him the Shooting Star of Satellite. From the first moment he played Stardust, he became Hope. Hope that at least one of them would get out of Satellite. He's not just Hope, he's smart too. Not everyone can hack into anything and everything and build a D-wheel from scratch.
He's also really protective of his friends. His family. So they're advice to people meeting Yuusei for the first time? Don't mess his friends and you'll get along great. If you do mess with them…run. Just. Run.
So, yeah, he's smart and a good duelist, and Hope and so much more. But, when you break it down you can pretty much call him one word.
Friend.
So…love it? Hate it? Let me know!
