Preface
I had been looking for Dimitri for about 2 months now, but it seemed more like 2 years. I would search during the day to try and catch the Strigoi off guard, most of the times it would work but not always. I had gained many injuries from it but they always seemed to heel, and that didn't stop me. Every single time I would search there still was no sight of Dimitri.
No matter how many of them I killed it didn't seem to kill the pain inside of me, knowing that he was somewhere out there. That he had become one of those immortal creatures that he would rather die than have become, but now he was one.
It was still hard to go to sleep at night in the cheap motels that I would sometimes stay in, not wanting to use up all of Adrian's money too quickly. It wasn't because of the motel that I couldn't get to sleep at night it was worrying about Lissa and what she had said to me before I left. I know I had hurt her but I had to do it because I promised Dimitri and I knew Dimitri would have done the same if the situation were reversed. But most of the times the dreams were about Dimitri getting captured by that blonde vampire and knowing there was nothing I could do to save him.
