Perception

A/N: Hey, second yaoi fluff fic here, and it's still Zelloyd. Though I might try out some different ones, who knows? :3 Anyway, this one is told in Lloyd's point of view...and (I am sad to report) there's not too many Zelloyd fics that are in Lloyd's point of view. Like JUST his POV, no one elses. I mean, yeah, it's probably more interesting in Zelos's point of view (yes, Zelos, we all love you) but hey, give Lloyd some credit here. Personally, I like writing in Zelos's point of view, but...who gives? I'm going to attempt Lloyd's point of view. ^^ And yes, the way I wrote this one is a bit...weird, I guess. Anyway, have any edits or anything, tell me. 'Cause I have no one to edit my stuff...so yeah. :3 ON WITH THE STORY.

Oh, right. Disclaimer. I think I forgot that in my other story. ;_;

I do not own Tales of Symphonia in any way, shape or form, otherwise Colette would probably be dead, and Zelos would be the default soul mate for Lloyd.

Chapter 1: Think

See that kid? Yeah, the one wearing the red shirt and rather large overalls. And the funny brown hair. Yeah, that kid. His name's Lloyd. Lloyd Irving. Looking rather bored, sitting on the soft green grass, he mindlessly traced his finger on the ground, not paying any attention to the open textbook in front of him.

By the looks of it, he wasn't that smart of a kid. He even thought that memorizing the multiplication table was a great feat! And especially, especially when it came to dealing with love and relationships, Lloyd couldn't do much except stare at you in confusion.

Not doing his homework that Zelos had assigned to him and his friends, Lloyd decided to take a little nap. But just when he had closed his eyes, a finger poked him in the head.

"Oi, wake up, Bud. You didn't finish your work," came the familiar voice that Lloyd had never gotten tired of hearing.

Lloyd knew that he should just get the work over done with, but he hated studying, especially since he wasn't exactly feeling the best right now. Maybe Lloyd was coming down with a cold. He looked up, meeting cornflower blue eyes, his retort lost in somewhere on the way up. So instead, Lloyd said something intelligent like, "Uh?"

Zelos, looking concerned-but amused, asked, "You alright?"

"I…" his voice cracked. Lloyd didn't understand why, either. He could feel the blood rushing to his ears, the heat coming off from his face. What made him feel this way? He couldn't stop looking into Zelos's eyes, and felt his heart beat against his ribs rapidly as if he had just finished a marathon.

Traces of amusement vanishing, Zelos looked genuinely worried about his brown-haired friend. "Really, are you alright?"

Lloyd nodded, not trusting his voice.

"If you think so…" not looking thoroughly convinced, Zelos stood up again, and walked off. Lloyd stared after him, his heart slowing down, and his face going back to a normal temperature again.

Did Zelos cause all of those feelings?

He decided to ignore it for now…

But Lloyd had unknowingly fallen in love with the outgoing, red-haired, and philandering Zelos Wilder.

A/N: Hey, sorry it's short. This is more like a...umm, prolouge, I guess? XD I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.

Zelos: That's news to me.

Me: Oh, shut it, Zelos. R&R PLZ AND I'LL PROBABLY UPDATE FASTER!!! :D :D

Zelos: :1
