"I live for my boys, I would be lost without them."
Truth closes the gate shaking his head, this thing called Father is now where it belongs, it had been a long time coming and he finally has this monster's soul. Truth turns back to a woman watching, "Now where were we?"
The woman steps forward, mindful of the Gate and what evil it now contains, "I believe we were talking about my boys."
Truth suddenly transforms before her eyes, from a small ball into a female humanoid, "Right, those boys of yours. Well actually from where I sit, they're not boys anymore are they Trisha."
Trisha sits across from the being, "No I guess not, but why? Why did they have to suffer like that." She looks down with deep sadness in her eyes, "Wasn't it bad enough that I wasn't there with them?"
Truth shakes its head, "Oh, Trisha. I know it's been hard for you but they had to learn their lesson and as we both just saw they did."
Trisha nods, "I know and I'm very proud of both of them, but…they were children."
Truth stands and motions her to follow, "I want you to see something," They walk past the gate and suddenly the white fades away showing the earth below them, "They may have been the youngest to break the taboo, in fact right now across the world fifteen have tried to defy me and are being punished. And across the centuries, hundreds tired and hundreds have failed. But…" The world disappears in white, "They are the first to learn from it. Your boys have learned that they are human, and Trisha they wouldn't have learned that if you were there."
Trisha looks at Truth, she knows the being is right but, it's still been hard to watch her boys though the years. "I…it's just so hard."
Truth folds its arms, "I know Trisha but without the events of the past, they could have never have stopped Father, never have saved the world and the souls of the people of it. I took their bodies but they gained compassion, humanity. They know what it means to be human and that's what's important."
Trisha looks at the gate, "All that to learn a lesson…but then my boys were always smart and caring. Will I ever see them again?" She looks back surprised at the being before her, the humanoid has changed, and grey warm eyes met Trisha's.
Truth smiles sweetly, "You may in time wrap your arms around them or maybe they will be the ones to hold you."
Trisha smiles at the thought of holding them in her arms again, just one more time. "Thank you, but I have one more question."
Truth gently sits down long white hair flowing down its back, "You husband will be here shortly, my dear, do you want to wait for him here or in the Gate?"
Trisha sits next to Truth, "If you don't mind I would like to be here when he arrives." They sit in silence for a moment, "Thank you Truth, thank you for helping my boys in your strange way."
Truth laughs whole heartedly, "In all these centuries, that my dear Trisha is a first."
Trisha smiles, "Well there's a first time for everything." Truth nods and both turn and wait for Hoenhiem to arrive. So finally after years apart they can cross over together.
Truth looks at the Gate, large and foreboding. It turns to look at Trisha, "They'll be alright my dear and my offer still stands if you want it."
Trisha smiles, it would be great to see them again. "I'll think about it, but will I remember this or my past life."
Truth sighs, "Well, I will say this; there must always be a price…"
