Light snuck its way cautiously through the blinds of the 3rd story flat of Ginny Weasley and Hermione Granger. The former flat occupant opened her eyes at the onslaught of sun. She blinked once, twice, and then remembered what day it was. It was Christmas morning. She smiled, yawning and sat up in bed. Looking down at the foot of the bed she saw Crookshanks curled up, his tail slowly flicking from side to side. Best of all, curled up beside her with one hand under the pillow was Hermione.

Ginny smiled to herself, kissed Hermione's head and got out of bed. She pulled on a green wife beater and some faded muggle jeans then walked out of the bed room, down the hall to the kitchen. In the kitchen she picked up her wand from where it hung on the wall and flicked it at the stove. One burner turned on and a pan flew off the wall to rest over it. Ginny then opened the refrigerator, charmed for each thing inside to be at the exact right cooled temperature in its spot, and pulled out a carton of eggs.

Suddenly a cat swished through her legs.

"Good morning you little crook you." Ginny crooned down at Crookshanks.

She knew the cat hated it when she called him that. Ginny cracked three eggs then whirled her wand counter clockwise so the three eggs scrabbled together and began to swirl around in the pan. Going back to the fridge Ginny got out some cheese. She flicked her wand at the cabinet to get the cheese grater and set that going.

Crookshanks made a growling type noise at her.

"What? You want me to make you food too? Don't be a brat."

He meowed.

"Yeah, I know its Christmas but your mother is not awake yet so just be patient."

Ginny exited the kitchen giggling and walked down the hall back to the bed. Hermione had shifted so she was taking over the whole queen sized bed now, face smashed down into the pillow. Ginny sighed deeply in the doorway then went inside and sat on the bed. She curled a little of Hermione's hair around her finger and leaned her head on her elbow.

"Hermione." She whispered, kissing Hermione on the head as she spoke.

The sleeping woman didn't move.

"Hermione."

Hermione shifted so her head was lying on it's side, her face toward Ginny. But she didn't open her eyes.

"Come on Hermione." She kissed her cheek. "It's Christmas day, wake up." Ginny kissed her again.

She made an unintelligible noise.

"I'll go get the mistle toe."

Hermione's eyes opened and her brow creased. "Wha?"

Ginny giggled and kissed her on the lips. "It's Christmas and I'm making breakfast. Time to get up, love."

Hermione rolled over and smiled. "Eggs with salsa?"

"Aug!" Ginny kissed Hermione on the lips who kissed her back sleepily. "You and your salsa. It's so gross."

Hermione grinned. "Maybe you just need to try and have a more varied palette."

"Such big words in the morning."

Hermione nodded with a yawn.

"Merry Christmas." Ginny said, kissing her cheek.

Hermione touched Ginny's face with her hand and pulled it to her lips. "Merry Christmas, Ginerva."

Ginny snorted and lay herself on top of Hermione kissing her deeply.
