It seemed like everyone understood the difference, except for her. Everybody could differ between them based solely on instinct, except for her. She could never understand the difference; she knew what she was told, and that was good enough for those around her. But she didn't understand why, and that's what scared her. What would happen if she was put in a situation that completely alienated her teachings? Perhaps she would collapse, but that would be bearable. Maybe she would run away, and that'd be okay too. Embarrassing, yes, but not terrible. But what if she made a mistake? Sided with the wrong alliance, made the wrong decision. She wouldn't be able to cope. Watching all those lives being destroyed, all because of her. All because of some defect she was born with.
