Just To Show How Much He Cares
He'd always been an early riser, even before the days of barely sleeping at all. The strange thing is that now he sleeps more than he has in years, comforted by her presence in his arms. It had taken them an age to reach this point in their relationship, that they both are happy to spend more nights sleeping together than apart.
He recognizes the signs, knows when she's down or anxious, when she thinks she's done something wrong. He's learned how not to react. Anger, he knows, has always been a fine edge to walk; it's easy to lose control of it. In Parker's case though, he found that his anger would frighten her away too afraid of the bad things she had seen to risk staying with him. It was enough to chase his anger at her away permanently; he isn't willing to take the chance that she will leave.
He wants her to stay; he wants her safe and happy and with that glow of contentment she gets when she accepts that this is the right place for her.
For that, Eliot is willing to be soft and romantic. He'll show her his heart and hope that she understands just what he is doing, how much he is risking for her. When they're alone, he'll hold her close, he'll listen to her ramble and watch her favorite movie with her. He's been known to bring her flowers, cook her favorite food and play the music that she likes. He'll sing to her and climb up to the roof to watch the stars in the sky with her.
But in her opinion, the sweetest thing of all is when he gets up early to take a shower and draws a heart on the fogged up glass of the mirror, entwining it with her name and his. It costs nothing but his time, but it bares his heart and soul for her so clearly.
