A swift glance across the room - She manages to meet his eyes, but she diverts hers quickly. He can't ever find out, not after how she has treated him in the past. It would be awkward; it would be too much to explain. She can't possibly go through that. It's hard enough for her to accept it, but to go against the torment of others would make it almost impossible.

He notices her glance in his general direction. He hastily shoves his hand into his hair, ruffling it in his characteristic manner. Her attention turns back to the professor, and he shrinks in his chair. Another failed attempt at winning the affections of the girl of his dreams. How little he knows.

He collapses onto his bed, exhausted from the efforts of the day, his mind reeling. She's so confusing at times. Multiple times, he has caught her glancing in his direction, yet she still acts as though she can't stand to be around him. He sighs. Maybe it just isn't meant to be; maybe he should give up. His friends try to convince him otherwise, their eyes twinkling mysteriously.

She can't concentrate. Her grades begin to slip ever so slightly. She finds herself doodling a boy with oddly familiar and messy hair in class, rather than taking notes. It almost scares her - just how much she really cares for him. He has no idea, though. She likes it that way, doesn't she? She rests her chin on her hand and sighs. Perhaps not.

Another day, another mystery. He isn't sure how much more he can take. She glances back at him during a class, and flashes him a brilliant smile. He manages to return it before she turns back around, her face as scarlet as her hair. His friend elbows him, laughing quietly. He playfully shoves him back and returns to notes, elated inside.

He casually pulls her aside in the hallway. It's way past time that he had some answers. She tries to pull away, her face once again taking on a rose hue. He grabs her wrist gently, and pulls her back, practically begging her to talk to him. She raises her head and their eyes meet. That was all he needed - that one glance. He can sense all her emotions - her fear…her desire. He smiles and pulls her in for a gentle kiss. They're finally together, finally happy, finally one.

Note: This doesn't flow very well anymore. It used to be a songfic, but...well, that obviously doesn't go over well here, so I took the lyrics out.
