Help me, I tried to make the words come out but no matter how hard I tried they wouldn't. I watched as Pete Martinsburg walked around Alish's lab. He looking into beakers that held unknown fluids and poked some of my organs, that Alish had removed from me, with a pen. I kept my eyes trained on him silently begging him to help me, to force them to put me back together. I know Duke Davidson was at the entrance to the room. He came to check my 'progress' every few days, I knew there would be no help from him. Pete finally turned to me and I could see the horror and disgust in hid eyes. I opened my mouth again to try to force the words out but as before none came out. Pete looked to Duke for an explanation. "She used to ask for help until Alish removed her lungs. He's using her to find a cure for death." Duke told Pete. I followed them with my eyes as they walked toward the door. I tried again to force words out of my lungless body in one last attempt to escape this torture, but Pete quickly left, looking slightly ill, leaving Duke to turn the lights off and shut the door, returning me to darkness. I don't know how much time had passed in the thick blackness of the lab before the lab door opened again. I mentally cringed hoping it wasn't Alish returning to dissect me even more or Duke to stand and watch me. I felt elated when I heard Karen yell and Phoebe's shocked gasp. I listened as Karen demanded my immediate reconstruction as I was bathed in the hallway light. I tried to smile at them to let them know I was thankful for rescuing me. I think it was a week or so later that I could leave the lab. I knew that I couldn't leave the lab as who would know if Alish picked another project but I met Karen at the entrance of the building, smiling as the sunlight shown down on me. I told her of my intentions to stay with Alish and Angela. She looked reluctant but allowed me my decision. I reached forward and hugged her thanking her for saving me. And while I was wary on the Hunters I knew that I had friends to watch my back.
