Originally, this is written post Marauder, and a little while after they have left Hogwarts. However, you can read this in whichever era you see it fits best. This might also be a little snippet into something bigger than I'm planning - but for now, it's a sweet drabble.

Remus rolled over, sweaty and sore. There's a sticky substance near his thigh and the scent of pheromones linger in the air. He can feel a warm arm across his hip and something soft tickles his ear. Cautiously cracking an eyelid, he is momentarily blinded by a beam of sun that has crept through a crack in the blinds and he hisses softly.

"Mornin'," the man next to him mumbles against his ear. It's a deep voice – lucid and sleek.

"Sev'rus?"

The man snorts, opening his own lids and pushing himself up with a groan and a creak until he is propped on his elbow. He yawns widely, then smacks his lips. "Were you expecting someone else?"

Remus shrugged. He wasn't expecting anyone, if he were to be honest, let alone Severus Snape and especially not his ex-boyfriend.

"You should shower," Severus murmured, kissing the younger man's shoulder blade.

Remus considered that for a moment, but the thoughts that ran through his mind were not the efforts of moving from the bed into a cold room and away from a warm embrace; albeit it was an embrace he wasn't sure he ever wanted to feel again. Remus thought more of where he had been the night before, how he had bumped into Severus again and what had they drank to persuade them to end up in this moment.

"No," he said finally, letting himself relax into Severus' hold. "I think I'll stay. Just a little longer."

I hope you enjoyed reading this.
