A/N- This poem won first prize in my school's Creative Writing Contest in 2005.
My eyes are red as blood
My scales, emerald green
With a fearsome fiery breath
Most humans think I'm mean
Well it's not true, I say
I wouldn't harm a fly
Don't turn your back and run
I only kill to stay alive
We are living things,
If you prick us don't we bleed?
But heed my words of warning
Don't tickle me when I sleep
Don't take our advice for granted
As odd as it may sound
Human, you were cautioned
Before your charred bones were found.
