Old Future : New Past

Okay, so I'm back and ready to make amends. I got a few flames for a couple of my stories and I didn't appreciate them then (neither will I now). However, they made me re-read my own work and I swear I almost threw up at how…bad and Mary-Sue-ish they were! Except for Fairies Rose, that is, which I shall update eventually. So I'm up loading this new story and I'm going to try to make it so it's nothing like my previous stories! No more Mary-Sues!

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or anything affiliated with the series. I make no profit off of this story, it's just for my own (and hopefully others) amusement/entertainment. But…I can dream can't I!

Prologue:

More than three hundred years have passed since the attack on the Leaf Village by the nine-tailed fox demon. Three hundred years have passed since the heroes of the Village perished of old age. Three hundred years of peace between the shinobi villages.

The girl sat in her desk as she listened to the teacher drone on about "The Great Uzumaki Naruto and his team." Tired green eyes dimmed as she fantasized about food. She had heard this history lesson plenty of times already; she could probably recite it by heart! And who cared about people from three hundred years ago anyway? They couldn't do anything now! That however did not stop the teachers from lecturing.

And because he was a ninja, this was the Ninja Academy; her teacher noticed her lack of attention and shouted at her. "Pay attention Alaisdair! Uzumaki-sama was our greatest hero! Show your respect!" He had admonished. She, of course, followed orders, only to roll her bright eyes the moment he looked away. They always did say that she'd never amount to anything as a kunoichi. They said she knew nothing, a point she was more than willing, in fact itching, to prove wrong.

'Bet I could make it to the history scrolls,' she thought as she nodded off in class for the fourth time that month. 'I bet I could…'

So the years passed by and the girl became a woman. She'd like to say that she proved her teachers and the others wrong by becoming the best of the best, but she'd be lying. At the age of some twenty-five odd years, she was barely a chunnin, while her classmates where jounin and ANBU level ninjas. She resented it when she heard them laugh behind her back. At how unskilled she truly was. But somehow she ignored them and moved on. 'Someday…I bet…' She always kept that hope and feeling alive. And as she looked off at the mountains on which the faces of their past Hokage's were carved, she felt reassured. After all, why shouldn't she believe in herself to prove those people wrong, when one little blonde haired boy had done the same? Had done more! Had become a legend.
Lady Seiryu: I know this isn't long but it's just the prologue. I promise you that the chapters will be much longer than this is! XD So please read and review, and I do welcome some critisism, but no flames. Thank you!
