WALL-E: A Heros Tale.

Chapter 1: Meet WALL-E.

The year?

2815.

The place?

Earth.

Population?

One.

Who, you ask?

Listen. Hear that?

You stop and listen. It sounds like… music? You then see a young -very young- man walk by. He looked to be somewhere in his early twenties. He was rather short (around four feet tall) and thin, and had brown hair with soft brown eyes to match and tan skin. He had a pair of round geek like glasses on his face, and carried a faded red and white backpack on his shoulders. He was wearing a faded yellow uniform, which like him was covered in dirt! He had on brown pants that were also dirty. The same with his shoes (which were brown, dirty, and actually heavy duty working boots). There was a name written on the uniform (like a nametag) that said "WALL-E".

The music was coming from a pair of small headphones in WALL-Es ears, which were attached to a Walkman tape player which hung on his belt. The song that was playing was "Put on your Sunday clothes" from the famous 1969 film musical "Hello Dolly!".

As he was whistling to the tune, he noticed a little brown blur run after him. WALL-E took notice and let the thing run up his arm and onto his shoulder. We can see it more clearly now: a mouse! (Yes! I realize in the original film, he's a roach! But who wants a roach for a pet?)

WALL-E turned his music off, and looked at the sun (he wasn't wearing a watch). He pulled out a couple of Twinkies out of his backpack. He grinned when he noticed his pet mouse jumping up and down excitedly. He then said, "Dinnertime Hal!" and unwrapped the Twinkie for him.

The mouse gladly wolfed his food down. But, WALL-E hesitated. He glanced down at his Twinkie with a sigh. And then ate his food. If he could even call it "food"! This wasn't a meal! This was a snack!

He looked up at the dirty yellow sky and sighed. He remembered how it used to be…

Before "they" left…

Before the accident…

He shuddered at the memory of the worst day of his life. The day that changed his life forever! He didn't want to think about it anymore. Tears began to form in his eyes. But he shook them off, packed up his backpack, and started home.
