Chapter 1
Megan sat on a bus that traveled along a dirt road leading to her aunt's detention camp. She saw holes, lots of them, and even people digging them. She shrugged and decided that that's probably the detention that they got for their crimes they committed.
She waited for the anticipated arrival at the camp. The reason why Megan was coming here was because her mom was dying of cancer and her dad had driven himself crazy with grief and regret. So, they sent her to live with her Aunt Lou, the warden, while the havoc at home was going on.
All at once the bus jolted at a complete stop leaving Megan to almost fly out of her seat. Overjoyed, Megan grabbed her suitcases and ran off the bus. She looked around, and there were tough looking boys staring at her, whistling. She tried to ignore the noises the boys were making by find her aunt and there she was!
"Aunt Lou!" Meg cried out running to her aunt. They greeted each other with a big hug. "Well darlin' how good it is to see you!" Aunt Lou greeted pulling Megan's brown hair out of her face. "I couldn't believe how long that trip was! I mean I didn't expect it to be that long!" Megan said smiling. "Well, let's get you all unpacked." Her aunt said picking up her suitcase and leading her to a large cabin.
They walked in the door and Megan felt the cool air. She already felt like she was home. Her aunt led her to a room in the back. She opened the door and a fairly large room appeared. The sunlight pored in through the windows and gave a yellow tint to the cream colored walls. Speaking of the walls there were wanted posters of Kissin' Kate Barlow and articles about them framed. In between two windows was a bed with an iron headboard and a footboard. Next to it was a nightstand and then there was a closet and a burrow and a mirror around the room. Megan set her things on the bed.
"Well get your things ready and then we'll find you something to do later okay?" Aunt Lou asked. "Sure that would be great!" Megan responded happily.
The door closed and Aunt Lou left the room. Megan sat down on the bed and felt the quilt that furnished. She nimbly felt the threads that connected the pieces of fabric together. She stood up and took her small bag to the burrow. The bag contained her make up, brushes, lotion, and other necessities that she needed. She unpacked and set up her things nicely on the burrow.
Megan turned to the mirror and starred at herself for a while. She touched her long thick brown hair that fell over her shoulders. She turned away with the thought of her mother in mind. She looked exactly like her mom. She had the thick long brown hair, dark brown eyes, the shortness of her and even the same skin tone. Megan hated to think about her mom. Ever since last year she hadn't been responding to treatments for her leukemia.
Once unpacked Megan changed out of her clothes and changed into something more comfortable a denim mini skirt, pink flip flops, and a white halter top. She threw her hair up into a messy pony tail and headed to mess hall where the boys were eating dinner.
a/n I know she sorta sounds like a hoe in the end but she's actually the girl next door! Lol ( I know this story is a little short!)
