Monday Night, 7:00 pm
Evy sat in the rocking chair rocking their 6 month old son, Alex while Rick was off doing god knows what with Jonathan. Most likely saving him from a bar brawl. Evy sang a nursery lullaby to Alex before putting him slowly in his crib, trying not to wake him again. This boy was fussy when it came to bedtime and naps. Rick and Jonathan came crashing in, their loud mouths blabbering about some bar fight that Jonathan almost caused.
"Well, just one minute you two!" Evelyn scolded them, "Alex is finally asleep and so help me if he wakes up," she pointed to Rick, "You don't get anything from me for a week," then she pointed to her hazardous brother, "and you stay inside this house with no liquor for a straight month! Am I clear?" Evy looks at her husband and brother as they nod with fear in their eyes. She looks back at Alex who is still sound asleep in his crib. "Say goodnight to the baby, you two. I'll be in our bedroom, Rick."
"Ah, well I'll say she gave us one hell of a scolding!" Jonathan whispered as he peered into the crib. He was always a softie for his nephew. "Well, he's the most beautiful boy I've ever seen in my life. And I lived for a long time, now." Rick ignored him and rubbed a thumb gently over Alex's soft cheek, before leaning down and kissing his head. Rick would do anything for his son, and Evy, of course. Rick sent Jonathan to his room like a child and retreated to his room as well. There sat Evy on the bed in her silk robe, reading a book of hers. Rick stripped himself of his clothes, and kissed Evy's forehead before heading to the washroom. He washed his hair and cleaned himself, and then stepped out and wrapped his waist in a towel. He returned to the bedroom and changed into a nightshirt and briefs. He jumped onto the bed he shared with his wife causing her to hit his head with the book.
"Serves you right! Has no one ever told you not to jump on the bed?" Evy scolded him with a half smile because she knew she could never be mad at him. "Oh, all the time! But you should know I never listened as a child." Evy rolled her eyes as he lay his head in her lap. She began running her fingers deftly through his hair as they talked about ancient Egyptian myths and Gods. They talked about exploring again and if the time comes and they accidentally awake a mummy, they'd be ready.
Rick looked up at his beautiful wife and brought her lips down to hiss, kissing her passionately. Evy sighed into his mouth and opened hers, giving Rick the opportunity to push his tongue into her mouth. Their tongues rubbed together, and Evy tasted like strawberries given the fact that her fingers were slightly stained with red. Rick sat up and towered over her before pressing her body into the mattress with his. They stayed like that for a while. Kissing and touching each other until they grew tired and their jaws were sore.
"I love you. You are such a beautiful woman. You gave me a beautiful son, and a happiness I never would have thought I could have. Thank you." Rick said, pouring his heart out to the woman he loved, just like on their wedding day. He vowed to protect her, love her, and cherish her. And so he so will.
