My first try at a Frontier fanfic. I would love your comments, especially on making the characters seem OOC. I'm working on trying to improve that, as I haven't seen too many episodes. Also, I do not own Digimon. If you sue, you'll probably end up with some lint and some dubbed Frontier tapes. Thank you.

WARNING: This fic contains Shounen ai. Which means boys paired with other boys. If it's not your cup of tea, do not read. Thanks again.

AN: This fic takes place during high school. So, figure, Kouichi, Kouji, Takuya, and Junpei are sixteen, which would make Izumi seventeen, and Tomoki's fourteen.

"Are you going?"

"Going to what?"

"Formal," Kouichi persisted.

Kouji slammed the locker shut and glared at his twin. "Yes," he sounded exasperated. "Takuya said he'd go with me. Remember?"

"You're not one for casual conversation, huh?" Kouichi observed. The shrill buzz of the bell cut through the air. "Shit! I'm gonna be late! See you!" Kouichi bolted down the hallway.

Kouji watched him go with a fond smile on his face. "Idiot," he remarked. It was Kouji's lunch period, so he could just take his time for his next class.

"Oi, Kouji!" Takuya waved to his boyfriend from down the hallway. "Wait up!"

Kouji slowed his pace, and Takuya jogged up. "Where were you?" Kouji asked.

Takuya presented him with a huge grin. "Fishing Tomoki out of a locker." He cracked his knuckles. "You should see the bullies that did it to him." He smiled again.

"You're incorrigible," Kouji said, "last time you ended up with detention for a week."

"I'm...in...corri...what?"

"Nevermind."

Takuya shrugged, then brightened. "You know," he said, shooting Kouji a sly glance, "Junpei said he was going to ask Izumi to the dance."

"Truly. I never would have been able to tell," Kouji said dryly.

"Yeah, yeah." Takuya waved a hand in the air. "He's been kinda obvious. Who do think Tomoki will go with?"

"Probably no one. He'll just go to hang out."

"Oi. Fourteen year olds." Takuya shook his head in mock distress. "Oh, man! We've gotta get to lunch! I wanna see Junpei ask Izumi." He grabbed Kouji's arm and dragged him down the hallway toward the cafeteria. "C'mon, hurry up!"

Takuya proceeded to drag Kouji all the way to the lunchroom and to the Chosen Child "official table".

Junpei was looking decidedly nervous, and Tomoki looked like he was trying not to laugh.

Izumi continued talking. "And, then, Moru asked Jamie. It was so cute."

Takuya slammed his lunch tray down on the table. "Okay, I'm here, what's up?"

Izumi took a deep breath, ready to restart her whole story. Tomoki hastily jumped in. "Junpei," Tomoki said, "didn't you want to ask Izumi something?"

"Oh, uh, right." Junpei fidgeted. "Izumi-chan, um, would you, maybe, wanttogothedancewithme?" The last words were delivered so fast that no one could comprehend them.

"What?" Izumi said blankly.

"Um. Izumi-chan, would you want, to, uh, maybe go," Junpei paused and took a deep breath, "to the dance with me." The child of thunder had a hopeful look on his face.

Izumi leapt up off her seat and hugged Junpei. "Of course," she shrieked. "Oh, this is so cool." She flashed the victory sign. "I gotta go tell Jamie!" She bolted from the table.

There was silence from the entire table.

"Well," Kouji observed, "someone had too much sugar for breakfast today."

Junpei gave a dazed smile. "I can't believe she said yes."

"I knew you could do it, buddy," Takuya said. "Now," he looked at his watch, "we just have to get through four more periods."

The PA system buzzed. "Would Takuya Kanbara please report to the Guidance Office."

Takuya blanched. "Oh, god, they found out who switched the video tapes. Gotta go. See you guys at the dance!"
