Everything was peaceful, calm. Everyone was happy.

The fledglings had started to make their way outside to the garden. The four archangels had enjoyed watching the little fledglings play and laugh throughout the day. That was one thing that they could agree on. The brothers sat on top of a large and steep hill, as their eyes focused on the tiny angels. Michael, the eldest brother, had always been busy around heaven. He was either following orders, giving orders, or fixing problems that occurred. He wouldn't have a lot of time with his brothers, but he would make time. Lucifer, the second child, had been working for the most part, but he also helped his brothers or spent some time alone in his spare time. Raphael was caught up in building and enhancing the school. All the fledglings would soon grow up and they would need knowledge and training to become a warrior of heaven. They would go to school to learn. And that leaved Gabriel usually being alone for the most part. Yeah, sure he had his work that he needed to do, but he would rather have some company.

"Well," said Michael, standing up and brushing grass off of him. "I need to get back. The angels are awaiting my presence." He said, turning his back to his brothers to spread his wings and fly off. But before he did, the youngest archangel called him with a hint of sadness filling his voice as he spoke.

"Please don't go? Please Michael?" Gabriel asked of him. He stood up, meeting his amber eyes with a pair of emerald green ones.

"Gabriel, I don't have time. I need to go."

"Come back soon at least?" Gabriel said, catching the attention of his brothers who had been chatting very quietly. Michael pauses before he answers Gabriel's question.

"I'll try, Gabriel. But I can't make any promises." Michael replied, turning his back to his brother. He stretches his six, glistening light blue wings as he lifts himself high up and soars through the air. Lucifer and Raphael stood up beside Gabriel, watching their brother leave.

"I should probably go too." mumbled Raphael, slowly walking away. "I have a meeting with the angels in a bit." He flexed his wings as in indication that he was going to leave and he flew through the air.

Soon after Michael and Raphael had left to attend to their business, Lucifer had left as well. Gabriel sat down and continued to watch the fledglings until the youngest of the few had to go back inside because of the slowly darkening sky. Gabriel's mouth twitched into a soft, caring smile as he felt the fledglings' graces calm down into a peaceful rest.

He stood up to leave and return to his own heaven, but not before being hit by a pulse, or rather a blast. The pulse was so strong that he was sent to the ground, face first. He groaned as he sat up, face covered with a thin layer of dirt and grass. With a snap of his fingers, his face was clean.

He hoisted himself up and glanced over at the garden in which the fledglings were sleeping in. No one seemed to notice this…unusual pulse that rippled through the atmosphere. He sighed in relief that no fledgling was harmed, but still questioned the pulse he felt. He decided to call upon his brothers to see if they had felt anything.

"Did any of you feel that?" Gabriel inquired.

"Feel what Gabriel? Are you okay?" responded Lucifer, only seconds later.

"You didn't feel that? I was knocked to the ground!" said Gabriel, irritated at his brother's lack of understanding.

"Gabriel," Raphael had said softly, not wanting to upset his brother any further, "What happened?"

"I-I don't know…"

"What was the last thing you remember?" said Lucifer.

"Well, I stood up to leave the garden and suddenly, I felt a pulse that shoved me right on the ground with a face full of dirt!" Gabriel already knew his brother was chuckling at his misfortune, but he didn't need to see it to know.

"A fledgling, perhaps." Michael interrupted. "Brother, you were near the garden, no?"

"Yes, but what does any of that-"

"It was a fledgling being created." Michael stated. "But I still don't know how its grace could have been powerful enough to knock an archangel -knock angel- down. It shouldn't be that strong, it's usually so small that hardly anyone could have felt it…" he trailed off.

Gabriel quickly gathered his thoughts and flew straight towards the garden, but being quiet so he didn't wake the little ones. He wings fluttered softly as he reached the ground, in front of the doors. There was a very strong grace inside that Gabriel was attracted to and it was increasing its strength by the minute. As he edged closer to the door, he was confronted by the sound of another angel's wings, flapping in the distance. He turned around expecting to see Michael or Raphael or Lucifer, but his eyes met a pair of piercing blue eyes, complementing a pair of dark wings.

"Cassie?" Gabriel was shocked to see his face. His body was now fully turned around to see him.

"Gabriel? What are you doing here?" he asked, tilting his head to the side in his confusion.

"I was nearby when I felt this pulse. I collapsed when it hit me." He trailed off. "And this grace attracted me to here. Whatever's here, wants me here."

"I am here for the very same reason. Shall we go inside and investigate?" asked Castiel, intrigued by this sudden pulse. Gabriel nodded and he grasped the handle and walked inside, holding the door open for Castiel. Gabriel signaled for Castiel to head for the last door, on the right, down the narrow hallway. They crept through the hall, peering into the other fledglings' rooms as they walked by to make sure that they weren't disturbed. The door at the end of the hall was slightly open, letting in the faint glow that was cast from the outside. They reached the door when Gabriel stopped in front of Castiel.

"Is there something wrong, Gabriel?" whispered Castiel, careful of the fledglings sleeping.

"It's Enochian, Cas. Listen." and Gabriel quieted down so Castiel could hear it. There was a young voice; female to be precise. She was quietly saying 'it's okay,' 'don't cry' and 'I'm here.' Another voice in the room seemed to have toned down. Castiel caught a glance from Gabriel. They had never heard anyone that young, speak almost fluently in Enochian without any difficultly. Gabriel stood there, eyes widened. Castiel was in the same position. Gabriel then quietly moved towards the door and edged it open a little more to reveal a young fledgling, cradling a younger fledgling in her arms.

A/N I know that angels don't technically have genders but for the sake of this fanfic, just pretend they do. Review please! Feedback is always appreciated.
