Full Summary:
The moment that bound Hikari and Naruto together had been the fateful night when Sasuke left the village with someone dear to her. Through pain and loss, a friendship grew and with the years, she had come to see him as something more. Now the war has ended and with the Akatsuki defeated, life in Konoha will never be the same. With both a new program to rebuild the village, and the return of the one person she thought to be dead, Hikari's life takes a very drastic turn and not for the better.

Author's Note:
For a while now, there's been this idea brewing in my head. Considering I've been busy with other stories, I had to put this idea to the side. Until it reared its head again. So, I decided to give it a shot. This is the first time where I'll be writing a story that has a plot and subplot, each with their own elements. The story is AU-nish and OC-centric.

Also, I will like to give a big thanks to Stephanie for beta-ing this chapter. Most importantly, for guiding me with new choice of words and details.

Prologue

She was pinned against the wall, caged in by his arms as his chest pressed firmly into her own. It happened so fast as his lips worked over her own, tongue weaving into her mouth as he traced every crevice within. While she wanted to speak, she found he would not give her the chance to. His tongue clashed with hers and pushed it into submission, lavishing it with caresses. Her body heated up. She was sure she was blushing as a strange emotion rolled in her gut and settled in between her legs.

His hands moved down the wall to grasp her hips tightly, bucking into her roughly that a gasp managed to escape from her. Her face flushed as she felt the evidence of his arousal. His mouth descended on her neck, nipping and licking at certain areas that had her eyes widening. His fingers dug into her hips, grinding into her, causing her to elicit another soft gasp. As his hands traveled up her body slowly, it dawned on her where they were heading. Before he could cup her breast, her hands grasped his shoulders gently.

"N-Naruto," she breathed out, "wait. . ."

His hands stopped and his face pulled away from her neck, his smoldering azure colored eyes connected with her own dark brown. The lust that danced in his eyes was noticeable but was soon replaced by sudden guilt. She opened her mouth, tried to say something but before she could utter a word, he was gone from her sight. She stared at where he once stood, panting hard before she slid down to sit against the wall.

No, no. . . what have I done?

As if a response to her question, a soft murmur of a child's cry wafted through the hall of her apartment.

Author's Note:
Yes, this is quite short, drabble-ish even. It was meant to be that way ;)

I will like to point out that this story will be written differently, the difference taking in the form of chapter lengths. Some will be short and others lengthy, it all depends in the happenings of the story. I do promise, the story will move forth and in good pace.
