Fluff. Fluffity fluff fluff :)

Jayke covered his ears with his pillow, trying to drown out the noise. It didn't do any good. He still heard the boom of the thunder. He groaned, uncovering his ears. "Rain, rain, go away come again another- AH!" He screamed as thunder boomed and lightning flashed. He cringed on the corner of his bed like any other three-year-old boy would do during a thunderstorm.

"MOMMY!" He called for his mom, wanting to see the soft amber eyes that reminded him of the warmth of fires. His mother opened the door quickly and ran to him.

"What is it, baby?" She asked, putting her hands on her back.

"The- the thunder is scary. I wanna be with you and daddy" he said, a little bit of a tear forming in his eye. His mother smiled warmly and lifted him up.

"Let's go then" she said. His mother carried him the best she could to the sitting room where his father waited. She was about four months pregnant, so it was a bit hard for her to carry him. When she got the the doorway, his father took him in his arms to give his mother a break.

"Hey Jayke" his father said. His mask was down, so it was easier to hear him.

"Hi daddy" Jayke said, smiling. His father melted at the sight of his sons smile as he put him on the couch.

"You okay, Zoey?" His father asked, walking to his mother.

"Yeah, I'm fine Rythie" she said, looking up. Rythian smiled and helped her to the couch. Jayke snuggled up against his mother. Zoey smiled and stroked his dark red hair. Another crack of thunder and lightning made the room flash white.

Jayke whined and snuggled closer to his mother. "It's okay baby… the storm will be over soon, I promise" Zoey said to him, kissing his forehead. Rythian put his arm around her, scooting closer.

"You know… I was a bit scared of storms when I was a kid" he said.

"Really? You were scared?" Jayke asked.

"Yup. But I always knew the sun would come up after it" he said, patting his sons head. Jayke smiled at his dad. Jayke felt a small kick from his moms stomach. He jumped up.

"What is it?" Zoey asked, putting a hand on her stomach.

"Something kicked" he said, a small trace of fear in his eyes. Zoey smiled.

"It's okay. That's souposed to happen" she ruffled her sons hair.

"Really?" He said, looking at it.

"Yeah. No need to be scared" she said, hugging him. He snuggled against her again and Rythian put his arm around Zoey. She lay her head on his chest and closed her eyes. He rested a hand on her stomach.

"Mommy?" Jayke looked up at his mother.

"Hmm? Yeah?" She said, looking at the red haired boy.

"When will the baby come?" He asked, looking at her stomach. Zoey looked at Rythian and smiled. He smiled back.

"About five months" she said, stroking his hair.

"Five?! That's a long time!" He said, laying his head down again. His mother smiled warmly.

"Yeah. It'll be over as soon as you know it" she said and kissed his head.

"I can't wait" he said. "I hope I have a sister." He finished. Zoey smiled wider and looked at Rythian. The mage rubbed her stomach and put his chin on her head.

"I'm glad you can't wait" Zoey said, still stroking his straight hair. "I love you baby" she said.

"Love you Jayke" said his father, ruffling his hair a bit.

"I love you too mommy and daddy" Jayke said, drifting off to sleep.
