Hello everyone. This is my first attempt at something like this. Please review and tell me what you think. Also be warned that this is my take on the characters and events that take place, so they may not even sound like the books at times. Also may be panning on doing a romance later on. Not decided who this relationship should be with yet, but im sure that as i get to grips with this, ill know who i should pair off all my characters to :D. Hope you enjoy this :D

Diary,
Today was brilliant! I, Hermione Jean Granger got a visit. For me! From a professor McGonagall, who came to tell me and my parents that I am not going to All Saints high school *phew* but instead going to some place called Hogwarts.
I know this sounds like I'm telling you everything in the wrong order, but I got into this school by being a witch. Apparently the fact that no one could ever keep me away from my books, and all the bad luck that happened to anyone who tried to bully me for it was actually me, I can do magic. Which is slightly worrying. After what happened to Stephen Bond in year three, I hope they teach us how to control our magic. I wonder if Stephen got out of hospital yet.
Anyway, this is so confusing. I don't know what to think, or feel, it's all happened so fast, and term only starts in less than a week.
Of course, as you'd expect, I can't tell anyone that I'm a witch, so let's hope that no one cares enough about me to notice that I never went to the stupid high school with the rest of them. Of course, being Grangers, we already know and have planned what we are going to tell people. If anyone asks, my parents and I shall say that I am going to an exclusive boarding school that I managed to get a rare scholarship into, and that I only got my acceptance letter today, so they couldn't tell anyone at the school.
Tomorrow, we have arranged that muggle borns such as myself have an arranged day to go into the wizarding area of London, hidden from all muggles (thats non-magical people) to go and buy all the equipment that I need to have. Also, we do need to get the hang of wizarding money. Luckily professor McGonagall reassured me that there is a bank available which will exchange my money for wizarding money, and that the system is easy to get the hang of, with the usual bronze silver and gold denominations, and have a simple enough system. One knut is apparently almost the same as a penny, then 29 knuts make a sickle, and 17 sickles make a galleon.
On my list of things to buy are books. I need to find out as much as I can about Hogwarts. Luckily Professor McGonagall recommended a book called Hogwarts: A History to me, which sounds perfect. Coupled with all the books on the reading list for us I should be able to get up to date with this entire new world.
I can't wait. I will tell you everything about "Diagon alley" tomorrow, good night.
P.s Cant sleep. This new school is going to be amazing!
P.P.S At least i hope so. Professor McGonagall didnt really mention any negatives, but human nature sys that there will always be bullys. I hope there arent people who will look down on me because of who i am, and who my parents are.
P.P.P.s I wonder if the wizarding world HAS dentists. Or maybe they just have spells that mean that dentists are essentially redundant. Maybe i should ask tomorrow.
