When was it?
When was that pivotal moment that he decided that it was time to stop running and face what truly scared him?
Was it when he first met Charlie and saw the same fear and uncertainty in his eyes that he saw in his own every moment of every day?
Was it when Charlie gave him the evidence that proved to him that someone he prayed he would never see again was back?
Was it when Ginger was killed and all he did was run and hide in the panic room?
Was it when Charlie came back and literally called him a coward to his face?
Did he really want to become the man in the mirror?
Was he nothing more than a drunken coward who didn't care about anyone except himself?
Peter looked in the mirror as he sipped on his fourth glass of Midori when he sniffed and brushed his fingers through his hair. Looking at the trunk at the foot of his bed, Peter snapped his fingers and the lid of the trunk opened. He was dressed in jeans, black boots, a black t-shirt with a dragon painted on the front and a black jacket and he placed the glass of Midori on the dresser before walking to the trunk. Kneeling down, Peter removed the black coat, placed the black coat on the floor when he reached into the trunk and took out what he needed to help Charlie find Amy and get rid of Jerry once and for all.
After he had armed himself, Peter walked to one of the display cases that Jerry hadn't destroyed when Peter removed the rifle with the cross shaped cross hairs from the display case, placed the rifle through the leather straps sewn into his coat and sighed. His stomach felt like one giant knot as he glanced over to the spot where Ginger had been slaughtered then shook his head and rubbed his knuckles under his bottom lip.
Now all he had to do was find Charlie before he did something stupid. Walking to the bar, he picked up the piece of paper Charlie had given him and concentrated on the energy coming off the piece of paper. Sighing, Peter walked to the door to the panic room when he closed his eyes, concentrated on the energy and pushed the button. Walking in the panic room after the door opened, Peter looked at the white light as he hoped he was drunk enough to do this and the door closed behind him.
Charlie was shocked when he turned around and walked right into Peter and Peter was just as shocked that he had found Charlie that quickly.
"Sorry. Sorry. Sorry," Peter said as he looked at Charlie and knew right then and there that Charlie was right. "I guess I don't want to be a man like me either." After showing Charlie the weapons he had brought with him, Peter locked eyes with Charlie and said the one thing he knew Charlie wanted to hear. "Let's kill something,"
