He hadn't known why he had spared her. After all, she did lie to him about Lucy being dead. But she was dead, she was not the same Lucy he had known once before. She was a begger on the street. He was not the same man either. He had changed and so had she.

When he found her dead from his hand, he didn't quite know what to do. His emotions raged between anger, hate, and depression. His first instinct would have been to kill the baker but, she had given him a place to stay and food. She was even risking her life living with him. He decided to spare her. He still was unsure why.

It was a slow day in the pie shop. The rain poured down outside causing a blur from any window you looked out of. Sweeney Todd sat on a stool staring out into the abyss of day. Commoners walked the streets even in the pouring rain. He could have sworn he saw Toby with some sailor but as far as he knew, he was by the fire with a bottle of gin.

Mrs. Lovette walked up the stairs to the barber shop holding a tray as she knocked on the door and then entered. It had been days since she came up to the musty old barber shop.

"What do you want?" He said flatly still staring out the window. He gripped the razor in his pocket tightly he was debating the fate of the baker at the few moments he had before she spoke again. He couldn't believe she dared to come up here. After that night. She knew he could snap at any moment but yet, she still acted as if everything was fine.

She walked over to him with the meat pie and gin in hand. "I thought you would just like to know that judge is on the menu" she said placing the tray down in front of him. He turned around to look at her and to his dismay, the first time in fifteen years, he let a grin slip.
