I woke with a start. What was that noise?! It sounded like a lawn mower, but the Cullen's' didn't have a lawn mower… did they? I got out of the white bed and slipped into some jeans and a T and, as quietly as I could, sneaked down the stairs. It was dark and I waited impatiently for my human eyes to adjust. As soon as I could see, I heard the loud noise suddenly stop. I peered around the corner of the wall and into the living room. Emmet, Edward and Alice were sitting on the couch, laughing. They suddenly broke off and looked my way. Alice was still giggling when Edward said
"Sorry love, I'm sure Emmet didn't mean to wake you" in his breath taking velvet voice. Alice suddenly broke into laughter again. Emmet grinned at me.
"Sorry" he said and then chuckled.
"What's so funny? Is my hair sticking straight up?"
"Nothing. Emmet was just cracking some jokes, that's all" Edward replied while Alice, unsuccessfully, tried to decrease the laughing. I frowned. Edward jumped up and was at my side in a flash. He walked with me to the kitchen. My stomach growled as I spied the egg and bacon breakfast.
"Thanks" I mumbled, sitting down at the table. "What was that you were laughing about?" I asked.
"Oh. That. Well, Emmet was just cracking some jokes, that's all" he replied.
"What?" I asked. I knew when Edward wasn't telling me something, and this was one of those times. He sighed.
"Emmet was doing an impression of you sleeping Bella. You know, you make quite a noise when you sleep." I snored?! Since when?! "I'm sorry it woke you. He was exaggerating." He saw the shocked and embarrassed expression on my face, and then the blush. He dragged a seat next to me and put one cold arm around my shoulders and gestured to the food with the other. "Are you going to eat that or is it all going to go to waste?" he asked in a soft tone. I whipped the expression off my face and smiled in his direction.
"Thanks, looks delicious" I complemented. Then I digged in. The food was delicious, as always, and by the time I had finished I was completely full.
"What we going to do today? Your choice" Edward said. I suddenly found my lungs with no air. How did I still get winded when he spoke to me? You should think that, by now, I should be used to his velvet, sweet voice. I sucked in the air I needed and then thought about the question. It surprised me that we had a day off. It was Friday, a day we usually spent at school but then I remembered. Today was a pupil free day for some weird reason. I couldn't recall what the holiday was for, but that didn't matter. What mattered was that there was no school and I had a free day to spend with my Edward Cullen.
