Who else was saddened when Viggo died? I almost cried. I decided to write this to try and honour him.

Enjoy!

Astrid Hofferson could hear Hiccup Haddock muttering in the Forge already, and they had only been back at Berk a week! Sure, those last final days at the Edge had seen Hiccup hard at work, designing what was apparently an upgraded Inferno, but Astrid didn't think that it would be this soon he would lose himself in his work.

She poked her head in the Forge, and sure enough, there he was. Hiccup wasn't standing over the anvil, but sitting in a chair, looking over some sort of designs.

Astrid could catch some of what he was saying. "Retractible Blade, gas at other end, maybe-"

She cleared her throat. "You know, we've only been back home a week. What's gotten into you?"

Hiccup jumped out of his chair upon seeing his Betrothed. "A-Astrid! What brings you to the Forge?"

Astrid entered and smiled. "Looking for my soon-to-be husband. Hiccup, you know Stoick's been looking for you, right?"

He nodded. "I know. I just wanted to get this started."

Astrid sat down beside him and peered at his designs. "What is it?"

Hiccup sighed. "When I fought Viggo, he had some sort of fire sword. Like Inferno, but modified. I'm trying to make something similar."

Astrid nodded. "You've taken on a lot of projects, haven't you? Between this and your flight suit, you're going to be too busy to even go to your wedding!"

Hiccup shook his head. "I'm not trying to do that, if that's what you're thinking. It's just-" He sighed. "I can't get Viggo out of my head. He died saving my life. Saving Toothless."

Astrid put a hand on his shoulder. "Viggo had every confidence that you would defeat Johann and Krogan. And he was right! You did! And somehow, you've managed to change the mind of almost every dragon hater out there! Viggo, Dagur, Alvin, even Stoick!"

Hiccup sighed. "I guess you're right, Astrid." He smiled. "Now, what does Dad need from me?"

Astrid shrugged, barely hiding the smile on her lips. "I don't know. But you should probably get moving, before he sends Skullcrusher to find you."

As the boy ran out of the Forge, Astrid smiled. What Stoick wanted to talk to Hiccup about was officially announcing his betrothal. It was a conversation she didn't want to miss.

As she stood up to leave, a sketch Hiccup had done caught her eye. Astrid picked the paper up and gasped. He was designing a new axe for her. Most likely as a marriage gift.

Astrid smiled and put the design down. She would just have to act surprised when the moment came.

Then again, it's entirely possible that Viggo is still alive. I mean, we all thought he was dead when he fell into the Edge Volcano! I suppose we'll just have to wait and see...
