Chapter 1
Trying to stand on its foreign legs, a dragon as large as a ship, staggard out of the courtyard of the castle of Fairy Tail. The creature shakily propped one front leg on the ground. One leg at a time, it had finally rose to its full height, towering over the walls surrounding the island.
The trees and shrubs that surrounded the open space were engulfed in flame. Not only the exterior of the once grand palace was slowly turning to ash but also the interior. Dark mages were scattered everywhere. Some setting objects that remained untouched aflame. Most were scouting the area for both civilians and mages who would try to flee the island.
Unaffected by the heat of the scorching flames around it, the dragon launched itself into a run towards a cliff located south of the kingdom. Those dark mages who spotted it fired out attacks earning them a a lungful of flames from the beast's mouth. Its slanted eyes were focused on the enemies surrounding him, waiting for a wrong move from them for him to lauch another attack.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!"
The booming voice coming from the balcony of the burning building. The owner of the voice, a man in a dark robe and heavy plated armor. A devious smirk plasted on his face, seemingly pleased by the departure of the dragon. In his hands, a golden goblet emmiting immense dark magic. This item, the key to the rise a new empire and the fall of many.
"Let him through. He has a duty to uphold for our plan's completion."
Immediately, all mages below lowered their weapons, extinguised their magic. All obeyed the command of their leader and soon to be king of the new Raven Tail kingdom. Cautiously, they watched as the beast huffed out steam from its nostrils and continued on its path towards the cliff.
Upon arriving at the edge, the beast stared off at the dark horizon of the sea. Having one thought etched onto its mind. Let the kingdom of Raven Tail rise from the ashes with an army of the strongest wizards ever imagined.
With this thought, the dragon spread its mightly wings and soared towards the mainland of Fiore.
