Caroline Forbes is a Town girl. And everyone knew that Town girls were useless when it came down to it. Look at Mrs. Everdeen for example or Madge Undersee - fluffy, sweet and useless. And yet he can't get himself to look away.
He blames it on her hair, the blonde, sunshine yellow that cascaded past her shoulders or was tied up in a ponytail. The blue of her cornflower blue eyes, the way they light up when someone called her name. Her mouth was full and pink. And those legs, Hell's teeth, she had nice legs.
So he couldn't be blamed when one afternoon he invites her into the woods and has her pinned to a tree before she can utter a word. His hands are under her skirt of a flimsy, white material. She moans into his mouth when he pulls her up and he's inside her. It's quick and messy and she moans his name so many times, it echoes in his ears.
She dresses quietly afterwards and looks up at him expectantly as if asking for permission to leave.
"This meant nothing," He asks, ruthlessly, carelessly.
But she doesn't react only nods and walks away.
Somehow, he expected more.
