Felix hated the sea.
He hated how deep and blue it was.
He hated how it swished around the prow of the boat like silk.
He hated how the dolphins slipped in and out of the water like dancers.
He especially hated how wet it was.
Felix absolutely loathed the sea.

But when Piers turned to him and suggested he learn how to sail the boat… well, Felix couldn't just look into those aquamarine eyes and say no, now could he?

It wasn't just the sea that he hated. It was almost every body of water he came upon. He pretty much had a panic attack whenever they stopped by a river to bathe and replenish their water supplies.
This was before Piers joined the group, so Felix managed to get away with convincing the others to let him bathe alone.
He didn't like broadcasting his fear of water.
But it didn't go unnoticed when he spent hours upon hours bathing. In reality, he was going through his usual routine:
Muster up courage to get in water.
Hyperventilate when actually in the water.
Get out of water.
Make rope out of nearby branches.
Connect self and tree using makeshift rope.
Quickly submerge self, and then reemerge panicking.
Get out of water.
Tremble in the shallows and attempt to clean self.
Give up on getting completely clean and leave.
No one else knew what he was doing, though, so suspicions arose.
Jenna eventually tried to pry the truth from him; if he was going somewhere private, or if he was meeting someone secretly, and so on.
Felix always brushed her off with excuses and deflected any attempts at getting him to open up a little.
It wasn't something he could just talk about.
He just wanted to light the lighthouses and find Isaac.
Isaac….
Felix just hoped the blonde would understand everything and forgive him.

Of course Felix had feelings for Isaac. It was hard not to.
They had grown up together.
Things happened.
Felix felt wretched for deceiving the young boy for so many years.
He felt even worse when he left him in the Sanctum.
Felix wanted nothing more than to explain himself to the young Earth Adept.

Piers didn't make much of an impression on him while he was being detained. He was more focused on keeping his distance from the puddle that had formed in the corner.
But once they reached Kibombo and found the Lemurian staring intently at Akafubu's ceremony, something stirred in Felix.
