Chapter 1: The Starman Cometh

There were clouds dotted around in the perfect blue sky. He raised the brim of his cap, to check where the burning heat of the sun was coming from. There was never anything interesting where he lived, just some old mushrooms, and the odd turtle or so. But, today seemed different. He didn't know why, but he could feel that something amazing was going to happen today.

But then, a harsh beam of light erupted from the ground infront of him. And a single embodiment rose up, for it, was the Ancient Minister. He raised his arm, and commanded his army of Primids to attack.

"One single sweep" Our hero said "That should take them down"

And then, he commenced to take each one down, one by one, until there were no more. He was parched, and his breathing was heavy. But then again, this was a normal day for our Hero.

As he paced towards his house, he was stopped by a familiar figure.

"Hey, just saw you take down those Primids back then! I never knew you could fight like that! Pop along to the castle later, and I'll introduce you to some guys!" shouted Toad.

Many hours later, he arrived at the castle. There were the usual villagers, but the were circled around 4 people standing in the middle of the room. The hero pushed to the front of the crowd, to try and see who the 4 people were, but when he found out. His heart dropped. There they were, Princess Peach, Princess Zelda, Link and an unfamilliar pink ball.

"Ah, I see you met our stars then, boy." said Toad from behind him. "If you four, and my friend here would like to make your way into the backroom, I'll speak to you in there. Everyone else, Can you please vacate the building, as some 'practice' will be happening here shortly"

Everyone promptly left the building, apart from one robot. It just sat there, and stared at Toad with giant red eyes.

"I've heard about your league. It's a group of elite fighters. I wanna join"

"Ahaha, you're too young, my friend. And besides, a flimsy robot like you could easy be killed with a short blast of water."

"You'll regret this. You just wait, and you'll be sorry you ever doubted my amazing power.."

Suddenly, the room filled with smoke, and when it cleared, the robot was gone.

"Well, that was weird" muttered Toad, and he strolled into the backroom.

Peach, Zelda, Link, Our hero and the pink ball were all sitting around a table. Toad stood near the door.

"All you people, are amazing fighters. You have the physical prowess most people lack. That's why I called you here. I have recieved a tip-off that an evil being called Tabuu is planning to plunge the whole world into subspace. We must prevent this."

He pointed at our hero.

"I feel those primids that you faced earlier are a form of attack that Tabuu may be planning."

But then, a tremor shook the building. Silence, followed by a huge aftershock, and the side of the building being crashed down, and an unfamilliar figure ride through on a motor bike.

"Wahahahaha!" It laughed. "I am Wario, and I've come to kill you all!"

He picked up his motorcycle and struck Toad, The Pink Ball, Link, Peach and Zelda with it. Our hero simply dodged like nothing happened.

"You.." Wario pointed "What are you, and why can you dodge my Trophy Ray!"

"I'm nothing you've ever seen before. I'm Mario, and you're about to feel my true power!" Mario screamed, and ran forward, with his fists clenched.
