They walked through the diner, hand in hand, ignoring the wide-eyed stares of the passing waitresses they knew so well. Why were they here? Was it really any of their business, as long as they were happy? Did they really need to tell them? Sara didn't think so; but Gil had other plans. He was a changed man with Sara. Now, instead of resisting the urge to touch her, kiss her in front of their colleagues, he wanted to be able to do so, free of judgment. He hated lying to his team, his family. It killed him to know that they were keeping a secret from the people who loved them most and would do anything for them.

Sara was just happy the way she is. She, too, hated lying to them, but she'd get over it. She knew that once the secret was out, there would be some major changes. Someone would have to switch shifts, if they even got to keep their jobs. They'd see even less of each other then they do now. People would stare and question their judgment. Thinking back to all of the cases that they'd worked with them, their team would start to interrogate them to find out the details. When it started, who started it, why they hadn't noticed after all this time?

Plus, wouldn't they be mad? Gil and Sara had kept a secret from them. For two years, at that! But it wasn't their fault they hadn't noticed. Sure, they hid it well, but there were always screw-ups. Casual touches that weren't meant to be, lingering stares, and hadn't anyone noticed that they didn't work many cases together anymore?

Nick had almost found out once. He caught them in the break room after a long case he and Sara had worked together. It was just a simple hug; but that could have easily escalated. And it didn't matter. They never hugged anyway. It just wasn't normal for those two. But, thank goodness, he turned around to talk to Catherine just before he walked in and caught them.

So, here they stood. Judgment time. Couldn't they just turn around now a make a break for it? No. That would be too suspicious. It was here; it was now. No turning back. Every one of them was there. No one seemed to notice they were there so Gil cleared his throat.

It got deathly quite. Just as Gil was about to open his mouth, Catherine spoke.

"Finally," was all she had to say.
