Miles's Girl

Part One:

Miles stared at the first year accounting book 'Accounting 1'- how original. He hoped if he stared at it long enough it could dissolve into nothingness and would disappear into oblivion, but alas the book remained as did the "USAS" (United States Accounting Standards) [1], that lay next to it and the two work books that were squished underneath them (one for 'T' ledgers and one for general journal entries). He'd better get used to them, if he were going to be part of "Goodman, Goodman, and Goodman".

Miles sighed, lets face it- he was miserable, but, his more cynical side adds 'but', at-least you are not being ridiculed, no one sniggers when you say you are studying accounting- they just go 'Oh', and your report can not be vastly different from anyone else's- especially if the topic is Accounting Principles.

"Miles Coming?" Sabrina's always perky voice breaks into his subconscious.

Sighing once more he grabs his books and follows her out. He wasn't fooled- was he honestly meant to believe that she suddenly took an interest with constellations?

"Come on Miles, you promised you'd help me"

Apparently so.

However, like always, he doesn't question it- he just goes with it. Sabrina often said and/or did random things, but has never questioned it, why? Because she is a rare friend who has stopped to ask him how he was. So he let her randomness be, but he hoped one day she'd trust him with whatever secret she was keeping.

Relief washed over him as he sat next to Sabrina, and they watched the Cadillac fly away. He knew he wasn't insane- the proof was sitting right next to him. He knew what his eyes saw and now, some-one else had seen it. It was god to know that he wasn't alone in this; it was nice to share it with someone, especially Sabrina.

Sabrina was right, though, it would probably be best if they kept it a secret. The people of Earth probably weren't ready for technology so advanced. Talking of secrets, perhaps she'd open up now.

Probably Not

"Sabrina I finally figured out how you're different, I was shocked at first, but then I realised the clues were there from the very beginning-"

It means allot to her, huh. I guess I'll change the subject.

"Don't worry Sabrina, I'm not going to tell anyone, you have a crush on me

Does the idea really shock and repeal her, that much?

"I understand, I'll do what ever I can to be less desirable"

That shouldn't be too hard.

Authors Unite

That was part one, very short I know, but part two is longer and should be up soon.

[1] I'm not from America, so I'm not sure what the official name of the standards are and I was too lazy to look them up.
