Random One-Shot I thought of. Heta-Oni related. Enjoy? It's kind of depressing...
Red Tears
"ENGLAND!" She screamed. She instinctively ran forward, taking a hard blow to the side. Blood instantly welled up to the surface, but she had protected England from the hit. The gray force brought her to her knees, tears streaming down her face. Her heart clenched in panic, her blue eyes going wide. Her glasses lye crushed on the floor next to her, leaving her blind. England was lying on the floor in front of her, motionless and cold.
The force surrounded her in a cloud, horrifying her with senile whispers and demon's promises. She screamed soundlessly, engrossed in her own mind. Her hands covered her ears and she sobbed for mercy.
The force seemed to know it had won, and it disappeared into a mist. She sat rocking in her legs, an island in her own ocean of blood. Coming back to herself, she crawled forward to the other nation's side. Mortal now, pain screaming in her face. Her blood coated hands shakily turned the cold body over.
He was breathing.
Raspy breaths sucked through chapped and cracked lips. Blood ran down from his eyes, clotting and sticking them forever shut. The green flash England had produced replayed in America's mind. Somehow he had performed magic. But now he was knocked out.
She shook his body none too gently, screaming for him to wake up. If he didn't, she threatened to kill him. If he did wake up.
His breathing hitched and the girl's heart flew to her throat. She choked on sobs, relived that he was awake. His breathing became steadier, but his eyes remained closed.
She rested him back against the cool blood splattered marble, tenderly brushing his blond hair form his forehead. Blood clots stuck in his hair. She peered desperately over him, her vision blurry.
She asked him if he could hear her. He didn't reply.
Suddenly feeling cold, she looked quickly behind her. Scared, she thought the gray force had returned. But she was wrong. She turned back to her companion. His green eyes were finally open, but they were glazed and looked pained. She couldn't see well, but she thought he looked okay. She asked him to get her glasses so that she could help him.
He didn't reply. For a second she thought he hadn't heard her. Then she convinced herself that she hadn't even spoken. She repeated her question verbally.
He turned slowly towards her.
For the first time she noticed the deep gashes around his eyes. She couldn't breathe.
He couldn't see.
She felt blind stranded on the floor next to him.
But she wasn't the blind one.
She waved her hand frantically in front of his face asking him to see how many fingers she was holding up. His eyes remained fixed how they were.
Blood welled up in his eyes. Tears. Red tears.
