"Stupid question", he snarled. "You took me away from my father, that's why."
"You didn't even know he was your father." Emily pulled at her ties. They didn't give an inch.
"I always knew he was more than just my mother's employer. I would have figured it out eventually. But you had to interfere."
"I wanted to protect you!" No matter how hard she tried to hide it, her voice gave away her desperation.
"Protect me or protect society, Agent Prentiss? Sacrifice a boy's right to be with his father… I bet for the greater good that hadn't seemed to be too high a price."
"He would have turned you into a monster!"
The look on the young man's face told her that it was useless. She had lost him.
"And what exactly did you turn me into?" His smile sent shivers down her spine. "How did you like Doctor Reid's funeral, Emily?"
He aimed his gun at her head and released the safety catch.
A door burst open.
"Don't shoot him, Morgan! Don't!", she yelled.
