The Willow
The night was as silent as ever, except for the sound of the crickets and the slow breathing of a girl walking in the woods
. She had dark brown eyes and brown bushy hair, she walked slowly to the willow every step made her knees quake.
She sat in silence she remembered everything like it was just yesterday; the war was as crazy as ever she heard screams and cries, flashes of light all around.
The enemies draw nearer to her but she got distracted when she glanced at him, after all with all the chaos that was happening she didn't know if he was okay, she didn't even know if he was still alive.
She was happy to see him looking back at her with his freckled face and sweet smile but then he shouted for her to turn around, she saw a bright, green flash, she was stuck, she didn't move, it seemed like it was the end for her but then she felt someone push her, she didn't get hit but that person certainly did, her head hit the ground and the last thing she heard before she was completely unconscious were cries of his name and hers as well.
When she woke up she was still in the woods with him lying next to her, probably dead there were bodies scattered around some survived the war but many have died including him it took a while for that to sink in and when it finally did she cried hardly and screamed his name over and over, shouting and telling him to wake up, she shook him with all her might but nothing happened he was still lying there making her suffer.
After what had happened she cried for weeks or even months but she realized nothing would happen if she continued doing this, he won't live again.
It had been 8 years now but she could still remember what happened, she could still feel the pain of losing him and she still blamed herself. There was no way she could forget his face, she could never forget him but she remembered what he said before they went to battle he said he'd always be with her no matter what and she believes him, she really does but it's still painful to lose a ⌠friend.
She cried quietly leaning against the Willow where her friend died...for her. But the most terrible part of losing him was that she never told him what she really felt for him. They were only friends and it ended there. She never knew if he felt the same way, she never knew what could've been. He left her as a friend and that was it or so it seems
