A/N: I had to write this. When I started, I didn't know what category it was going to be.
It was September 11th, 2001, the day when the United States came to a standstill. Of course, they didn't know that.
"Dad, I have a bad feeling about today. Please don't go!" 12 year old Gabriella pleaded with her father. They had moved over the summer to be closer to his work in the World Trade Center.
"You always have bad feelings on the days you need to go to school, munchkin," Her dad, Tony said.
"But this is a different feeling and it's for you, not for me! Don't go!"
"Unless I get hit by one of the cars stuck in traffic, I'll be fine," He would soon know how wrong he was.
At 9:00, while Gabriella was at school, they announced, "All students, go home school is ended for today. Good luck."
Everyone stared at each other. It wasn't that they liked school, it was that she had sounded like she was crying. The teacher was confused as well. Her phone rang. Her face turned from confused to shock to horrified. She had tears running down her face as she told them, "Don't go by the World Trade Center. Tower one and two has been hit by planes. Go home."
Everyone bolted to their locker, grabbed their stuff and ran outside. They could see the towers from outside. Gabriella stood transfixed. The second tower collapsed!
Gabriella went home. Her mom and her waited for new of her father. When night came, someone came to tell them that he had been rescued by Tony who had went back into the building about 1 minute before it collapsed.
Gabriella and her mom moved at least once a year after because of her mom's job. But, they always remember that fateful day.
