Sister of the Pharaoh: Hey all! My name is Sister of the Pharaoh. I'm known for Yugioh Stories. But I wanted to do something new! So I decided to give writing a Yuyuhakusho story a shot! Hope you all enjoy!

Prologue/Miyuki's P.O.V.

The night. It's something that's become special to me. It relaxes and takes away all the stress I've gained during the day. A special time that I share with someone close. Yet this was not true before. The night was once a harsh reminder of a horrible event that happened. Just the memory would terrify me. So much that the fear would never allow me to sleep.

Every time I thought I was safe is when the nightmares would come. No matter what I could never escape. I would always wake up screaming in the end. The fear was worst than the pain, and sometimes I would grow numb from both. I never imagined that someone would save me. Or that the person who saved me would be the love of my life. My true love, who would keep me safe from the nightmares.

My name is Miyuki. I am the last of my clan. I shouldn't have survived , yet here I stand.

This, is my story.

Chapter 1. The Unexpected Gift

There is a world very different from our own. Where stories from your childhood are more than mere fantasy. In this world, there are three different kingdoms. Each rich with life, cultures, and boundless history that was unique among each ruler and the people. These Kingdoms had inhabitants besides humans, that were intelligent and vey powerful. These kingdoms inhabitants were demons.

Each kingdom was known by the powers their people possessed and type of class they were. The Nature kingdom was the dwelling place of the animal and elemental demons. Who could use the water, plants and air around them to live and fight. Their kingdom was a mix of the feudal and modern area of Japan and was heavily surrounded by nature.

In the Evolution kingdom, only miles away, lived demons who had the power over materials such as rock, iron and metal. These demons could create pretty much anything almost out of thin air. With their skills, vast knowledge, and creativity, they built massive buildings as well as high class technology. Living in a huge city that was far more advanced than the humans.

Then there was the Spirit Kingdom. A kingdom where humans and demons lived and worked together. The demons in this kingdom could use the very energy inside them. They keen senses and powers helped them to fight, repair anything that was destroyed, and heal the sick and injured. This kingdom was made up of many different aura's and energies. It was protected by a barrier that destroyed any hostile forces.

All the kingdoms respected one another. There were some difficult times, even times when war threatened to break out. Yet the ruler and the people from each kingdom worked together in harmony to keep the peace among them. Striving for a high quality of life for all. Despite their different views and way of life, all the kingdoms and villages worked together.

To honor the respect and loyalty each kingdom had for one another, a rule was passed that was meant to be lived up to whenever a new ruler took over a kingdom's throne.

That rule was that the people from every village and kingdom was to present a gift that would please or be beneficial to the new ruler. This was a sign of welcoming and a wish for good luck in the rulers reign. It was their way of having a royal coronation. Today, the new ruler of the forest kingdom was having his celebration. Everyone came from far and near to present their gifts to him.

All were gathered into the grand hall for the celebration, which was a huge Tatami room. Simple yet elegant, it was trimmed with deep dark cherry wood. The room was decorated with different flower arrangements, Japanese lanterns and many tables set up with different kinds of food for the guests to feast on. There were musicians to provide music.

The new ruler of the Nature Kingdom walked into the room just as the party was set to begin. Many people began to whisper and gasp in awe as he entered the room. Especially all the young women who blushed and giggled. The new young ruler was a spirit fox with strong abilities to create and control plants. Natural and demonic. He was also able to take on a human form to fool his enemies.

His name was Yoko Kurama, and his appearance gave off a strong presences as he walked in. He had long, straight, flowing sliver moonlit hair with white fox ears atop his head. Along with ice cold golden eyes that struck fear into anyone who was foolish enough to cross him. The new ruler was dressed in a dark green robe with light green trim over a white kimono. As well as matching shoes.

The new ruler was quite a mystery. Not many people knew much about Yoko's personality. One of the exceptions was his right hand and best friend Hiei. A fire demon who had been loyal to him for many years. Staying at his side long since before Yoko was prepared to take the throne. Hiei was about four feet and ten inches tall. With spikey black hair and white bangs that resembled a flame.

His eyes were a deep garnet red. You could almost mistake them for brown from a distance. Hiei was dressed in a black kimono with white trim, black boots and wore a white bandana across his forehead. Almost as if he was hiding something. Though sometimes rash and easily angered, Hiei wasn't someone to cross either. His cut throat attitude was matched only by his deadly skill with a sword and lighting quick speed.

Hiei also had mastery over many different fire techniques. He was the only one to master the darkness flame. Rumored to be a mere legend. Hiei could even read minds, but he kept that talent to himself. Yoko said nothing and kept a straight face as he took his seat at the throne. It seemed to put everyone a bit on edge. Finally,Yoko gave a small smile and raised his hand.

Allowing the event to take place. The party was truly an amazing and grand event. Everyone enjoyed themselves greatly. Laughing, talking, sharing their different views and experiences with on another. Yet Yoko couldn't help but feel a bit bored. He slouched slightly as he watched the others mingle. A moment later, he heard Hiei spoke and turned to face him.

"Believe me, I am as bored with this as you are. However we have to put with this if we don't want a war to break out."

"At least then, we'd have some excitement." Yoko answered back.

Making Hiei smirked with a small laugh.

"True, but your grandfather wouldn't get off your back. And I would have to kill all the angry guests just to shut them up."

"Oh we couldn't let that happen, now could we?" Yoko asked with smirk.

Making the two of them laugh. Just then, another friend of Yoko's came by to greet him. His name was Yusuke, an aura demon that could channel his energy into his finger and shoot it at his enemies. Along with many other devastating attacks. Yusuke trade mark spirit gun was as well known as his fighting reputation. He could handle himself in a fight easily and never refused a challenge.

Yusuke had jet black hair, brown eyes, and tan colored skin. He was dressed in a white fighting robe with matching pants, shoes and wrist bands. Of course, that was only his human form. One Yusuke had to take on when he left his own kingdom so his true form was protected. Without, he looked completely different. Yusuke, Yoko and Hiei had all known each other since childhood.

Although Yusuke and Yoko were friendly towards each other, Hiei tended to be a bit stand offish and hot tempered towards Yusuke. Despite his rough personality, Hiei considered Yusuke to be his rival and close friend. Even though he wouldn't admit it anyone. Yusuke smiled warmly as he approached his friends. Giving Yoko a thumbs up as he spoke.

"Hey, Kurama! Congrats!"

"His name is Yoko, fool. Can't you call him that at least today?" Hiei asked.

"What happened? You get loaded down with late night guard duty again, Hiei?" Yusuke asked in joking tone with a smirk.

"You'll wish I had if you keep testing my patience." Hiei said slightly annoyed.

"It's fine, Hiei. You and Yusuke are my friends and I don't wish for either of you to treat me any different now that I'm king." Yoko said with a smile.

"Thanks Kurama!"

Just then, a pretty blond haired cat demon girl waved to Yoko. Trying to get his attention by acting cute. She wore a pink sleeveless dress with a short skirt that showed off both her legs and chest. The cat girl also wore far too much make up and jewelry. It was obvious that she was shallow. Yoko paid her no attention. He turned his head in the other direction with a bored look on his face.

The demon girl gasped feeling insulted and pouted as she stomped away. Yusuke shook his head as he turned back to Yoko.

"So how many of those prissy, demon girl princesses have tried to flirt with you?" Yusuke asked.

"Every single one of them. Their attempts are becoming anything if not predictable." Yoko answered.

"I even had to threated one of them with my Dragon of the darkness flame just so she would back off." Hiei informed.

"For real?!" Yusuke asked in shock.

"Some people never know when to surrender. And a women whining desperately is just pathetic."

"Indeed." Yoko agreed.

Yusuke snickered to himself. Turning his gaze back to the crowd as he spoke.

"You know, you are gonna have to choose a bride one of these days. Now that's your a king and everything. You can choose whoever you want, they don't even have to be royal or full demon." Yusuke pointed out.

"That is true. But every women I've met is only ever after my wealth or title. For once, I would like to meet a women who's pure of heart. Even though that is a rare quality in demon women." Yoko explained.

"Hey, there might be someone out there like that. At least you'll be better chance at romancing a girl than Hiei!" Yusuke joked.

"He'll also be faster at confessions than you." Hiei retorted.

Which made Yusuke quite laughing instantly and gasp in embarrassment.

"Yusuke, don't tell me you haven't purposed to Keiko yet." Yoko teased with a smirk.

"I-I just haven't had the right chance yet!"

"More like you get cold feet when you do get the chance." Hiei said.

"Will you shut up!" Yusuke yelled.

Making Yoko laugh in amusement. Soon enough, it was time for the gifts to be given.

Yoko's eyes gleamed with excitement. The gifts of sliver, gold, jewels and ancient treasures pleased him greatly. They were all wonderful things that he could not wait to add to his collection. Yoko loved treasures of all sorts. The deeper the history behind the object, the more he valued gifts were give to Yoko that day. Some from other kingdom rulers and some from friends and family.

The last gift however was one Yoko did not expect. Nor one that anyone else expected for that matter. The gift was a rather large box with holes on the sides. Presented by a muscular, gruff looking man.

He had spikey, greasy looking blond hair with white horns on his head and grey eyes. The man was dressed in a green tank top and tan colored cargo pants with boots. He also had black gloves that went up pass his elbows. They were equipped with blades that were stained with blood. The man had the smell of death surrounding him. He bowed with a smug smirk on his face as he spoke.

"My king. Congratulations on your being crowned ruler. Although I'm a bit disappointed that the one chosen was a pampered fox princess."

"Watch your mouth, you dog!" Hiei scolded.

Yoko raised an arm in front of Hiei to calm him as he stared at the man with an icy glare .

"Name yourself and present your gift so that you may leave." Yoko said coldly.

"My name is Creed, sir. I'm a hunter, and I found a prize that I'm sure you will enjoy. In more ways than one."

Creed ripped the lid off the box and pulled out his so called 'gift' with a hard yank. Everyone in room gasped and Yoko's eyes went wide in surprise. For what Creed pulled out of the box and threw onto the floor, was a half demon, half human girl. She had long, jet black hair with purple highlights that was short in some places and long in the others. Like it was cut with a knife. Her long bangs covered her eyes.

She wore nothing else but a plan short sleeve gray dress that came down to her knees. Filled with rips and holes. Her body was covered in small scratches and looked so thin as she shook in fear. The girl looked as though she barely ate much of anything in days. Despite her appearance, Yoko was captivated by the girls beauty. Creed grabbed the girl by her hair and forced her stand up. He gripped it hard as he spoke.

"This women is the only demon of her kind. She is half rabbit demon and half human. Her black hair and deep red eyes are a lovely combination. Since the rest of the village was so weak, I killed them all with ease. A half animal demon however is quite rare, so I decided to spare her as a gift for you. After all, every king needs a sex slave. I'm sure you'll have all kinds of fun with her. "

The poor girl had tears running down her face. She couldn't stop shaking and feared what was about to happen. Creed threw the girl to ground and continued to talk. Saying vulgar things that made everyone cringe in disgust. Yoko was unable to hear any of it. All he heard was the whimpers and cries of the girl. Secretly begging for help as the fear and desperation showed in her eyes.

He stood up from his throne and walked down the steps towards the girl. Saying nothing as he came close to her and bent down to the ground. Yoko's eyes softened as he gazed at the girl. Who raised her head slowly to look up at the new ruler. Her fear began to wane the moment their eyes met. She could sense a great power and a cold ruthlessness from this man. Yet she could also sense a strong kindness from him as well.

Yoko swiped her back and gazed into her eyes. He was quickly enchanted by the deep burning scarlet color. Gently,Yoko cupped her face and whispered to her softly.

"This monster killed your whole clan and tormented you?"

"Y-yes...Your highness." The girl whispered.

"There's no need to call me that. What is your name?"

"M-Miyuki..."

Yoko gazed back up at Creed before standing up to face him at eye level.

"This so called 'gift' you brought is quite different, Creed." Yoko said with venom in his voice.

"It is one of a kind-"

"However, I don't consider the life of someone, demon, half, or even human, as a mere object. And I don't appreciate how you do business." Yoko said sharply, cutting Creed off.

His anger had now reached a breaking point. Yoko would not allow this man to leave alive. He helped Miyuki to stand and turned to Hiei and Yusuke, who went to the girls side in one swift move.

"Yusuke, the girl's name is Miyuki. Get her to a safe distance. Hiei, tell everyone to back away. I will not allow what this man did to stand."

Yoko's two friends smirked, knowing full well that he was very angry. They also knew exactly what was about to happen. That Creed was about to see Yoko's power. Yusuke did what he was asked and helped Miyuki get to a spare room where she would be safe. While Hiei turned to the crowd and spoke.

"Alright, everyone. Back away at least five feat. Otherwise, the king cannot promise that you'll live."

Everyone quickly followed the order and backed away. Creed stood in bewilderment for a moment. Unsure of what was about to happen. Yoko stood with a cold, icy gaze in his eyes. Thinking of exactly how best to deal with his prey. He then smirked and reached behind his ear with one hand. Yoko's hair swished as he tossed his neck back and pulled out a small seed. He held it up to Creed who laughed, mocking him.

"Ahahaha! I knew it! You really are a princess aren't you?! No wonder your father was killed. He was probably as weak as you are!"

"You're insults end here, fool." Yoko whispered in a deadly tone.

Suddenly the seed grew instantly in Yoko's hand and became a large, red tree. Wrapping around Yoko's arm as it grew. The tree it's self was covered with thorns. Sharp enough to impale the human body. Each branch on the tree had a large mouth with razor like teeth. Dripping with hot saliva that reeked of an awful smell. Each drip hissed as it hit the ground, turning into steam the moment it hit the air.

"Wha-what is that thing?!" Creed asked.

"This, is my death tree. One of my favorite weapons of choice for torture. As you can see, each branch of this tree has a mouth. And each mouth on the branch, has saliva hotter than the sun. So hot that will melt your bones in under a minute. Though the pain, will make every second feel like it's own eternity to you."

Creed shook slightly in fear as the tree grew larger. Slowly creeping it's way towards him. Yoko words had struck fear in Creed's heart like a dagger. With a growl, Creed foolish ran towards the demonic plant and cut one branch off with his blade. As soon as he jumped back, he smirked in victory. Which was quickly short lived as the rest of the tree became aggressive and lunged at Creed with no hesitation.

"That was quite foolish. My tree does not enjoy being attacked. However I'm sure you'll at least be a decent meal for it." Yoko said with a cold smirk as the tree began to devour Creed.

One mouth of the tree took a large bite out of Creed's leg. Making him cry out loudly as another bit him his arm and stabbed a thorn right through Creed's abdomen. The hunter was now covered in burning flesh and blood. His body shook violently from fear and pain, which only made it hurt worst. Yoko stepped closer to Creed slowly. Speaking in an ice cold voice as the tree tightened it's grip around it's prey.

"I never take anything in battle personal you realize, it's only that I do not stand for trespassers. Nor do I stand for a fool who abuse women and insults me in my own house."

Creed tried to beg for his life, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Yoko allowed his tree to devour it's prey completely. Leaving no trace of Creed what so ever. The guests in the room gasped in amazement. Hardly able to comprehend Yoko's outstanding power. Once finished, Yoko allowed his tree to return to a seed. Gone just as quickly as it appeared. Yoko turned his gaze to the crowd and spoke in declaration.

"Let this be proof of my power. Anyone who dares to do the same unspeakable acts as this man, shall be shown no mercy."

After a few moments, everyone in the room applauded. Greatly impressed by Yoko and his power. The new ruler left the party afterwards and headed down the hall. Going to check on the girl who was brought to him as a gift. Hiei quickly came to his side. Concerned as to what the new leader was planning to do with her.

"Hiei, tell everyone that the party is over. I've had enough entertainment for one day." Yoko commanded.

"Understood. So, what are you planning to do with the girl?" Hiei asked.

"Yusuke said so himself that I maybe in need of a bride. Perhaps Miyuki could be a gift in disguise after all."

Hiei seemed a bit worried as he continued to follow Yoko. Questioning the motives behind his masters plan.
