A/N: Originally second entry for LJ's kh drabble community's challenge [266] Going back. You might want to read "A Case of Losing," for understanding this better. Enjoy. :)

"Never give up... Everything has a happy end, and if it's not happy...then it's not 'the end' yet."

It all started with scattered dreams and mysterious whisperers. Or perhaps they were memories, he didn't know for sure. Whatever they were, they led him to one place: Hollow Bastion.

How curious. So this was where his Other was from? That had to be the case, because even though Zexion had never been here before and the name said absolutely nothing to him, he seemed to know the way around.

It was then that he realized that he had stopped in front of the entrance of a big, grey building.

…The hospital? Wasn't this the place where human sent their hurt and sick people, so other people could take care of them?

The Nobody decided to enter the building. Perhaps it would answer the questions he had.

He had barely set one step over the threshold, when that same, sad female voice boomed inside of his mind, "Most books are mainly written for profit...and magic and technology...they don't mix... Ienzo, I need you to be strong...and don't forget that you're the best thing that happened to me, and... I want you to enjoy life and be happy... I want these last moments with you...to be happy. Okay, sweetie?"

There was something about her. He felt like he was supposed to know her, especially because the name 'Ienzo' triggered something inside him. After all, that was the name of his old identity.

The hospital smelled much like antibiotics. Zexion didn't like the smell. It felt far too sterile in here, too clean. For Zexion, it somehow smelled of bad news, too.

Before he could register what exactly was happening, his feet started to lead him somewhere and before he knew it, he had entered room. If he had to describe the room in one word, he would say it looked boring. The walls of the room were all white, just like everywhere else in this building. Only the curtains had a soft, yellow-ish color.

It was quiet in the room, safe for the soft beeping of the various hospital equipment. There were only three beds in the room, all of them empty.

"Mommy, I don't want you to...to go. You can't just d-die yet. Please, I need you! I... I need you for s-so m-much!"

At that moment, he spotted a little toddler, crying near one of the beds. He had short, silvery hair and when he turned around, Zexion realized that the boy looked like an exact younger version of himself.

Was his mind tricking him into seeing things?

He didn't have enough time to wonder what was going on here, because the boy ran at full speed at him and went right through him, as if he just merged with him. At once, one of the beds weren't empty anymore. A pale and almost lifeless woman who was lying in the bed, slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes were bloodshot, but as soon as she saw him, she managed to crack a small smile, despite the fact that she was having difficulty with breathing. Zexion could see that she had once been a beautiful woman.

"Mommy?" Zexion whispered, barely knowing why.

He knew that she was awake.

"Hey, sweetheart. I'm glad you're here. I've been waiting for you…"

Wait, this woman was his mother? No... impossible.

Zexion stumbled backwards, almost falling over his own feet in the process. He had to get away from here, as fast as he could. It had been a bad idea to return to this place…
